Everything good comes to an end!
So our unbeaten run comes to an end, to be honest we weren't good enough to win against Fulham but they weren't either.
A game that came down to 2 feet and VAR. One foot from Murillo catching the back of Andreas Pereira's ankle and one foot from Chris Wood being an inch offside - One leading to the Fulham penalty, the other to a disallowed goal.
In the fanzone pre match we were treated to a conversation with a forest legend in Tony Woodcock, then when we got the team sheet it looked a bit odd, everyone assumed we would slot in Jota Silva or Elliot Anderson for the suspended Morgan Gibbs-White (despite a post match review agreeing 3-2 that he shouldn't have been given the 2nd yellow!) but Nuno decided that a change of formation was required, it had worked against Liverpool, and at home a 4-4-2 formation may just work...
Forest lacked the creativity and drive that Gibbs-White brings to the team and played too narrow without the options of Elanga and Hudson-Odoi from the start, 2 big men up front but no supply.
Awoniyi had a chance with an overhead kick from a Yates header and Wood had his disallowed but if we are taking those as the only chance's of the first half we can see that it really didn't work as well as Nuno had hoped. The half ended with the crowd feeling a little flat and some flair or creativity would have changed that.
Introducing Callum Hudson-Odoi at half time meant we had added pace but the penalty upended the half time team-talk and substitution's came thick and fast along with Fulham slowing the game down it all became a bit stop start and our formation changed to 4-1-5 (at least that's what it felt like) and the game opened up but neither side could create any meaningful chances.
We had a decent shout for a penalty in the second half as Elanga had his foot clipped by Calvin Bassey but VAR waved this one away
Overall a disappointing performance that showed how important it will be to keep Morgan Gibbs-White in January and more impact from referees in our games that has possibly cost us a point today.
As we are part way through @hivefpl GW6 as i write this, despite having 4 Goal Cole Palmer in my team I'm currently trailing by 5 points in the head to head league, hopefully Ollie Watkins can get a couple for Villa and Man United can put some past Tottenham as my opponent has Pedro Porro in defence.
Wholesale changes in line for GW7 so hopefully i can get a little help for Palmer and Haaland in scoring some points!
