¡Buenas noches a todos! Arrancaron los cuartos de la competencia más mágica del mundo; City recibía al Bayern de Tuchel en el duelo más candente de la fecha. Inter visitaba Lisboa para medirse ante las Águilas del Benfica en un duelo que a priori daba como favoritos a los lusos. Una victoria para el local, City, una para el visitante, Inter, pone a ambas escuadras a un paso de las semis de la Champions. PEP GUARDIOLA, COMO CASI SIEMPRE - PEP GUARDIOLA, AS USUAL

La única temporada en la que el City no ha hecho de su hogar un bastión ha sido la primera (2016-2017). Por adaptación, supongo, le costó edificar en Etihad una guarida en la cual sus jugadores se sintieran cautivos. Eso le costó la Premier, perdida ante un grandioso Chelsea. Y en Champions, si bien ganaron muy bien ante Mónaco en la ida, la cantidad de goles recibidos como local les paso factura en el resultado final al haber concluido el encuentro en el principado de Mónaco.

Después de ahí, todo encuentro que jueguen los skyblues de local son mejores que el anterior, brindando un espectáculo total las 11 piezas que les haya tocado saltar al campo en dicha ocasión. Presión alta y efectiva, combinaciones espectaculares en espacios reducidos y amplios. Basculaciones. Efectividad de cara al arco, y un ambiente digno de admirar producto del aura que genera el feedback entre el público y los jugadores. El Manchester City cuando juega de local te garantiza eso, un espectáculo total.

Tuchel viajaba con su equipo a la ciudad de Manchester con la intención de sacar un resultado positivo para la vuelta, y pocos entrenadores en el mundo saben cómo sacarle resultados positivos a Pep Guardiola, pero hoy llego el día en el que Pep no se dejaría superar por Tuchel.

Con la baja de Choupo-Moting el Bayern carecía de un delantero de área, pero con la presencia de Gnabry y Coman, que son extremadamente peligrosos y suelen ocupar cualquier posición en el ataque, Guardiola coloco una línea defensiva ocupada por 4 jugadores que nominalmente son centrales: Stones,Akanji,Diaz,Ake. Desperdiciando poderío ofensivo por las bandas con las subidas de los laterales, pero asegurando la retaguardia que sabía seria en algún momento vulnerada porque el Bayern nunca deja de ser el Bayern.

Pep incluyo a Bernardo por encima de Mahrez y al principio quizá haya parecido un poco negativo, pues habría de encararse el portugués ante Davies, que es uno de los jugadores más veloces del mundo -si no el que mas-, y para eso Mahrez era más idóneo, sin embargo Bernardo si tenía una cualidad que Mahrez no (o al menos es mejor que la de Mahrez) y es el regate, y ante eso Davies sufriría demasiado.

Haaland en el primer tiempo se vería un poco encerrado entre la marca de De Ligt y de Upamecano, así que no podía generar demasiado peligro. El Bayern intentaba hacer su juego a través de las conducciones de Musiala y de Sane, pero el City se defendía muy bien.

La figura de Rodri se agigantaba cada vez más, y en un arrebato decidió chutar al arco y romperle el ángulo a Sommer, y fue ponerse arriba en el marcador para que, en el segundo tiempo, la efectividad de la maquina celeste se hiciera con el partido. El City empezó a presionar muy alto las salidas de los centrales, y en un par de ocasiones empezaron los avisos del City, Upamecano no estaba teniendo su mejor noche, y en un grave error perdería la pelota cerca de su propia área y Grealish habilitaría a Haaland para que el Noruego le diera un pase a la cabeza a Bernardo y pusiera el 2 a 0.

El estadio se vendría abajo y con el envión anímico que eso supuso el City se fue con todo y provoco rápidamente el 3 a 0 de los pies de Haaland ¿en una noche de goleada el goleador no se iba a hacer presente?, Julian Alvarez tendría otra ocasión para colocar el 4to, y Sommer evitaría lo que hubiera sido una goleada escandalosa y definitiva.

Pep le gano el duelo a Tuchel, y la eliminatoria esta mas encaminada para el City. Queda la vuelta, cualquier cosa puede pasar...

INZAGHI Y SU SUPERIORIDAD ANTE LOS PORTUGUESES - INZAGHI AND HIS SUPERIORITY OVER THE PORTUGUESE

Cuando se sorteó la fase de grupos y al Inter le tocaría enfrentarse al Bayern y al Barcelona muchos (incluido yo) los daban por eliminados enseguida.

Ante Bayern no compitieron, pero lograron sacar de la competencia al Barcelona, de ahí en adelante, en Champions, el Inter ha ido avanzando. Sin un futbol no muy vistoso pero si efectivo y defensivo, Inzaghi ha logrado el equilibrio que pone al equipo a un paso de las semis.

Con un Bastión como Bastoni en la defensiva, Onana podría dormir tranquilo. El Benfica tuvo su primera ocasión en el minuto 15 de los pies de Rafa, pero no más que eso. La presión ejercida por el Inter era muy alta, y se jugó con fuego en algunas ocasiones, pero el Benfica no pudo hacer de Goncalo Ramos su figura en ataque, ya que el punta estaba neutralizado por Bastoni/Acerbi.

Iniciado el segundo tiempo, una jugada calcada de este Inter: Conducción por la banda y centro al área a esperar a Lautaro/Dzeko pero en esta ocasión apareció el mas pequeño -en estatura al menos- de todos, Barella, y en un gran remate lograba vencer la defensa de Odisseas.

El Benfica al estar en desventaja tenia que ir a por el empate, y en una ocasión casi lo logra. El Inter se volvió contragolpeador con el pasar de los minutos y en una fortuita jugada consiguió un penal que le daría la ventaja por dos goles, al anotar Lukaku de forma efectiva ese penal.

Inzaghi le ha tocado en esta fase de eliminación directa jugar ante los grandes de Portugal y a ambos les ha vencido con buenos argumentos, ahora el Benfica tiene que visitar el Meazza buscando la heroica pero parece muy difícil...

CONCLUSIONES FINALES Y DESPEDIDA - FINAL CONCLUSIONS AND FAREWELL

Thomas Muller no puede faltar nunca en un partido decisivo del Bayern, me parece que fue un error de Tuchel no haberlo puesto de titular. Kimmich es un jugador fantástico y durante algunos minutos del partido hizo muy bien su función, pero en los fatídicos minutos que sufrio el Bayern el capitán no se hizo cargo de equilibrar al equipo. Si bien Pep supo cómo contrarrestar al Bayern, el propio Bayern también cometió errores que a esta hora lo están dejando fuera de las semis por tercer año consecutivo.

Al Inter lo veo más cerca de las semis que al City a pesar de un gol menos a favor. El hecho de que cierre de local le da un plus enorme, y el Inter maneja un sistema que se da muy cómodo para contextos defensivos, aunque el Benfica tiene la baja de Otamendi y eso también influyo en la debilidad de la zaga defensiva de los lisboetas.
