This is how the Polideportivo Las Delicias looks like

Sports were never my thing, however, I like to appreciate the sports infrastructures both in my city and the ones I see on TV or on the internet. I think that previously in a post, I said that sports structures are not very developed in my city, Maracay, they are usually simple, basic and visually quite normal, but as I am proud of the things we have, I decided that I was going to share them with you. The sites related to sports that I have shared so far are the Santos Michelena park, the vertical gym and the students' square, although the latter was also built for other purposes.

I would say that the Polideportivo Las Delicias in the city of Maracay is the most important sports structure we have, it has an acceptable capacity and can accommodate a good number of sports disciplines. At first glance we can see that there are large spaces, a dome and many green areas, which makes this an idea place even to go with the family to rest.

I am going to start by showing you the most striking thing and that is the big dome, there lies a basketball court where basketball and indoor soccer are practiced. This place has seen the birth of great basketball players in my city, basketball is the second most practiced sport in my country, so it is very popular. As you can see, it is a relatively small space, but it has an acceptable capacity of spectators who can watch very closely the events of the game.

The dome has two bleachers with the same capacity of spectators, the chairs are made of blue plastic and can be reached through four entrances. Luckily, we were able to watch a basketball game that was being played at the time, I could tell that the proximity to the backboard makes the experience very personal.

The roof is one of the most striking elements of the dome, large arches support it with uniformity and integrity. I noticed that natural light enters through a track that runs down the center of the roof. It appears to be simple, but it is pleasing to the eye.

The common areas are quite large, but when you don't see people it looks much more massive. There are roofed rest areas, walking areas and I could also see that the main entrance is closed, you can only enter through the parking lot. Walking through these spaces during the day can be complicated by the strong sun, so the best thing to do is to rest under the trees.

The Olympic pool looks pretty good, the water is clean and seems to be ready to be used. We can see that there are two small roofed bleachers and that the spaces in general are in perfect condition, in fact, I would say that it is the best conditioned area in the entire sports center.

Towards the outskirts of the dome, there are three basketball courts that are open to the public, nicely painted and operational for use, but you definitely have to choose a good time as the sun during the day is inclement.
