Milan wins and Manchester United loses .. From the nightmare of Rangnick, Milan wakes up at the top of the Italian League, accompanied by Stefano Pioli.

Not long ago we can look at the news of the major sports networks and sites and see the news of Milan negotiating with German coach Ralf Rangnick to lead the team's project for years to come.

The negotiations had reached a very advanced stage, and some reports went to confirm that the agreement had been reached between the two parties and everything had been settled.

Some even talked about the names that Rangnick requested in order to be with him in his era in the ranks of Milan to build a competitive team.

But everything changed at the end of the season after the management saw that Stefano Pioli was doing a very special job and could continue to lead the team.

bold decision

Some criticized the Milan management's decision and stressed that the levels presented by the team do not go beyond being a temporary leap in performance and results.

But the Milan management's decision was decisive, not for Rangnick and his project with all the details that had been agreed upon before, and for Pioli to take his full opportunity.

On the other hand, we found some praising the decision, due to the leap that Pioli made in the team’s level, specifically in the period between returning from the long hiatus of Corona until the end of the season.

Milan at that time did not know the taste of defeat, and had it not been for the bad results in the first half of the season, its ranking would have changed by the end.

Beginning of reaping the fruits
Last season, Pioli began to reap the fruits of his work with Milan, and the club's management confirmed that its decision to continue with the team was correct.

Milan managed to reach the Champions League last season, and return to the most important European championship through the qualifying centers of the Italian League.

For a while, during the beginning of the season, there were glimpses that the team would compete for the league title, but this was an additional dream to achieve that was not necessary.

Beating Napoli and daring to dream
After Milan's victory over Napoli in the 28th round of the Italian League, the team topped the championship table, albeit temporarily.

But the club's fans dared to dream again under the leadership of the coach, who had met his previous fate with Inter in the ranks of Milan.

A few weeks and the Italian League race ends, and we know who the champion is, and if Milan wins the title, everyone will stand in respect and reverence for Pioli and the Milan administration for their decision that pulled the team back from lost years to the podiums again.

In a separate but connected context!
Manchester United lost four goals to one against Manchester City on the same day that Milan topped the Italian league standings.

It was never possible to connect the outcome of the two matches except because of Ralf Rangnick, who would have led the Milan project at the present time, instead of Pioli.

Instead he is managing Manchester United at their worst since Sir Alex Ferguson, and does not appear to be even close to a place in the Champions League.

Manchester United is fifth in the English Premier League table with 48 points, and Arsenal is fourth with 47 points and has three fewer games, and it seems that the chances of the Red Devils catching up in the Champions League through the Premier League are almost non-existent.

Imagine, dear Milanista, if that was Milan's situation at the present time, if Rangnick came, looking for a qualified position for the Champions League and wrestling with the top stars, and he does not have a chance on the horizon saying that he will continue in the next season.

bottom line
Despite the many criticisms at the time, the Milan administration was right to give Pioli, who achieved good results and good performance, the opportunity to complete his project in the team.

The product of the morning on Pioli has now appeared at the top of Milan in the Italian League, even if he will not achieve the title in the end for any reason.

At the same time, we see Manchester United in tatters with Ralf Rangnick, which refutes all the criticism received by the Milan administration.

So were the conditions in Milan conducive to success, unlike Manchester United, which helped Pioli and failed Rangnick, or did coaches have the biggest role in what each team has now reached?!

Nice post.
Obviously it's about conditions. Tuchel at PSG is doing more in Europe than at PSG,not because Tuchel changed, it was the conditions that changed.

Rangnick at Milan would have been different from this version of Rangnick because, the United environment he met was toxic with a cold war kind of thing amongst some players. A situation which he wouldn't have had if he was in Milan.

Well it has benefited Pioli and the man is using the opportunity afforded him very well.

Getting results is crucial in football and even in all of life. Pioli gave himself a chance for the job by focusing on the job, even when it was clear Rangnick had an agreement to take over from him. That focus gave him impressive results(like you have talked about above) and the rest is history. Kudos to him.

I am with you that the conditions inside Manchester are not good, but this does not detract from Rangnick's responsibility for what the team has achieved

It is not just that it is NOT GOOD,it is toxic. He is doing good in the current circumstances.

This my live post(https://peakd.com/hive-101690/@ogeewitty/psg-where-did-it-go-wrong) is the story of another coach who is being limited by player power that has been there before he came in. Player power limited Tuchel too in PSG and it cost him his job(it's all in that post). Today at Chelsea, people think it's a whole new Tuchel. No,the club structure helps him stamp his authority.

Truth is we often underrate the things that go on behind the scenes and expect a coach to work like a magician.
