Kayaking Danube

Something completely new for me: my first time in a kayak. A friend suggested we try kayaking a few days ago. After some asking around, we found nicely organized tours on the Danube.

The tour we chose is recommended for beginners like us, so we chose it unanimously. We boarded the kayaks not far from the confluence of the Sava and Danube.

After the initial introduction to the kayak and the technique of rowing, the fun part followed - going out on the Danube and the beginning of two hours of enjoying its waters.

The tour took us upstream along a branch of the Danube that passes by the Great War Island. After a short rest at the Zemun beach Lido, which is located on the top of the island, and transferring the kayaks across the sandy beach, we continued the tour down the main stream Danube.

We entered the Sava River for a short time and then went to another part of upstream paddling followed towards the entrance to the Danube and the end of our tour.

Did I like it? So let's just say I spend all day looking at kayak prices and paddling techniques. I think I will have many more activities like this very soon 😉
