Sept. 27, 22: Routine, PIMP Meeting, Walking x2, Teaching, TV, and Games

Well, I started off the night in bed tonight, but got up and moved out to the couch again around two in the morning or so. Was up slightly before six for about a half an hour short on my sleep goal. I kinda’ dragged some in the afternoon, but I found another way to waste the time instead. 😛

Can’t really think of much interesting to note about the morning routine. Mucked about on Discord for a while, watched some YouTube videos getting ready for teaching this evening, did curation, token shifting, checked the crypto markets…all the same stuff. Cryptos are still trading sideways with BTC holding right around $19k. Otherwise, spent some time working on WombPlay challenges and then worked on my post.

About that time, we had our weekly PIMP meeting. Mostly just the usual jibber-jabber, but I did learn that there was a new staking function on King of Duels. I went in and tried to get my tokens staked, but they didn’t get credited to my account for some reason. Had to go into their Discord to track my tokens down, but they took care of it right away and I got them staked.

I’m only kinda’ just dabbling with it, and it’s very much under development (so trying to keep a perspective), but I was a little annoyed. Still, fixed right away, so that’s fine…I’ll be confident sticking with it if they keep up that level of customer service.

I felt pretty guilty that I’d left the doggy behind when I went for a walk yesterday and I’d promised that I’d take him today. Still pretty chilly out, but it seems like he likes it much better! He was pulling pretty much the whole way (wanted to go faster) and I let him decide the route…was surprised when he decided to continue down to the lake rather than going home when we got downtown. 😁👍

Cold and cloudy still…been this way for several days now, ready for a bit more sunshine (and some heat would be nice - but I’m thinking I might be asking too much there). We didn’t get rained on, though, so it was alright.

Not much going on down at the lake today, but we definitely got a solid sniff of every tree in the park. 😛😂

Brought him back home and got some lunch. Silly me, though, my brain was racing a thousand miles an hour…

You see, I noticed that the boat manufacturing place at the lake was up for sale and I started getting all these visions of an amazing restaurant…like with a dock right on the lake so you could pull up your boat, grab a burger or whatever, and then go back out…the place is HUGE too, so I started having more visions of local band events and all kinds of drunk people out the back on a hot summer night…then chili and hot chocolate for the ice fishermen…man, the ideas just kept coming.

I figured the building would be at least a million (having so much lake frontage as well as a big lot across the street), but it was only $600k (only 😜). I looked at the listing and the pictures and started getting even more ideas.

I couldn’t help myself and I walked back down there to poke around and take a closer look. I struggled with myself the entire time…I mean, it’s a total pipe dream, but it gave me an excuse to fill in the rest of my five kilometers and snag some more steps.

I really could see it, and it would be awesome to own my own business like that…not particularly owning a restaurant that turned me on, but being on the lake like that, it’s a hook to bring people in. Ultimately, though, even if I were to get a loan for that kind of cash, the windows needed serious work as well as all the soffiting and facia all around the building, plus paint and new doors, and that’s just what I could gather from wandering around the outside…then you’d need an entire proper kitchen with freezer and ovens and dishwasher equipment…would be miles deep before I could even open the doors. 😭

Honestly, the time would have been better spent working on the website (something I might actually be able to accomplish), but whatever, I walked instead of laying down for a nap.

Spent some more time prepping for teaching and then had a bowl of cereal for dinner, got a shower, and had Calculus class. I didn’t get as far as I’d hoped with the material, but it’s alright. It’s a brand new idea (ish) to have more than one variable, so I did want to make sure to cover as many examples as we could. We did, but we stuck with only two independent variables (3D) and didn’t really get a chance to play with three independent variables (4D); next class.

It took me a while, as usual, to unwind after class and I chatted on Discord some and then played WombPlay after the daily reset. Tried playing Splinterlands for a little bit, but it didn’t take me very long to rage quit.

Wenche wasn’t feeling very well, so she was already in bed with Golden Girls on when I came to bed. I ended up watching a couple episodes before falling asleep.

I suppose that it’s been a while since dShitty used the ol’ Bank robbery as an excuse not to pay…at least they’re switching the shittiness up from time to time. I’m waiting with baited breath for the next edition…only thing left for them to implement is: buy these cards or get zero income forever…it’s the natural progression (basically there already).

The perpetual grind that is Rising Star grinds away. My Ego is still under control and no drunks, so at least there’s that.

I played some Splinterlands in the evening after class today…feeling the pressure of the end of the season countdown. Pretty much lost hope for getting anywhere near Diamond, and even if I did Silver is pretty much inevitable anyway. I’m more or less just waiting for myself to get fed up enough to finally rent my cards out and quit with getting frustrated and annoyed with it.

Just a bunch of back and forth, win one, lose one and get nowhere…earned one chest for my time and by the time it got to sitting there watching two losses in a row, I’d already had enough.

Got my Focus rewards from yesterday. Piddly bits of SPS, potions of course, but at least one fairly decent card:

Claimed my SPS interest for the day and debated with myself what to do with it. For now I just left it liquid, but I’m thinking I might stake it up to help that interest grow a little over time instead of siphoning all of it off.

No moves otherwise, just letting my vouchers build back up again and haven’t sold the thirty-five I pulled out the other day yet anyway.
