Nov. 8, 22: Routine, PIMP Meeting, Voting, Walking, Quest, Teaching, TV, and Games

Fell asleep a bit earlier last night than I have been lately, around nine thirty or so. Wenche got me up about quarter to six to go out and see the Blood Moon eclipse, but by the time I got dressed and out there, there was a layer of cloudcover and I couldn’t see anything. 😭 I went out and checked a few times before sunrise, but it was no go, or a no show? Either way, ended up about half an hour short on sleep, which seems to be becoming the trend again. 🤔

Being up early meant that I got a much earlier start on the morning routine. Most of it was routine, all the usual stuff…oh, and we added another member to the Solairitas Project ☀️🤩 so I got them set up…two new people in two days! Nothing to scoff at! Been forever since I did an update post, really need to do one, especially since I need to make the voting tier shift official.

Otherwise, of course, the crypto markets were absolutely brutal today. 😭 Binance decided to take a shot at their next competitive rival FTX and was insisting on dumping their FTT on the open market rather than accepting a deal direct from FTX…then the cryptosphere started to buzz with questions about FTX’s liquidity and people started to panic and withdraw their funds.

This, apparently, did cause a liquidity problem for FTX and Binance has agreed to buy FTX.com and bail them out (non-binding). The number two exchange dropping 70% in value and getting (possibly) sucked up by the largest hit the markets hard and we erased all the hard-fought gains of the last couple months. 😡🤬😢😭

Got an early start on my post as well, but actually didn’t get completely finished before the weekly PIMP meeting started. I did get it done not long after, though, so I was able to pay more attention this time. Mostly just chatted about the usual stuff, can’t remember any new or interesting projects that were discussed.

Got my post published and shared about the time the meeting finished up and I decided to head down to the poll and vote. This was a pretty important one…not only voting for governor (the Gretch won it, it seems), but for two amendments to the state constitution as well; one regarding voting rights and the other regarding abortion (since when Roe v Wade was overturned a law from like 1931 automatically kicked in outlawing everything).

I didn’t take Dude with me on my Zombierun yesterday and I’d promised I’d take him today, so after I got back from voting I picked him up and took him for a walk too. Got a good six, six and a half kilometers in altogether today. 💪

Chilly out again this morning and I did wear my long stuff, but with running after the dog and the beautiful sunshine, the hat came off by the end and I was sweating pretty good. 😅

Into November now and still no snow…knock on wood. I’ll take southerly winds and clear skies any time.

Got back and got my normal sandwich for lunch and then spent some more time going over the examples I had prepared for class this evening. I got a super early start on my notes (started on Friday 🤓), so I was pretty much prepared already, just making sure things were fresh in my mind and deciding what order to do stuff in.

That left me with most of the afternoon still open…it’s at that point that I really should have tried to get some work done on the website, but instead I busted out the Quest and played another Puzzling Places puzzle. I didn’t realize, but I’d only completed the first couple versions and so finished up the one hundred piece and started working on the two hundred piece version.

Not only that, a new song pack WeeknD (or however you spell it) for Beat Saber, so there was no question or hesitation, just got it and gave a couple songs a first go through.

Quit out, grabbed some cereal for dinner, got in the shower, and then got everything set up for class. We picked up with a problem that we were working on from last class and did a couple more examples in spherical and then jumped over to looking at the Jacobian and change of variables.

Once again I had over planned and we didn’t get to the last example I wanted to do (even with skipping some of the Algebra for the sake of time), and I went about five minutes overtime, but that was the end of chapter and next class we review for the exam (no new material to teach, but I have an exam to write).

As usual, it took me a while to come down off of teaching and I was hungry again, so I grabbed a bowl of the vegetable soup Wenche had made. Watched some more of The Gifted and played WombPlay games until putting on Will and Grace (Golden Girls have ended 😭) until a late bedtime.

Wut?! Say what again?! No crime or crises in my dShitty today and both my stated and actual income went up? Maybe it was a shit tsunami and not a hurricane 🌀 like I thought…maybe the worst is behind us (for the moment - dun, dun, DUN!) 😱

I am absolutely amazed that my Ego is still zero on Rising Star. Maybe they’re making up for all the drunks on drunks from last week? 🤷 Either way, I’ll keep on with missions until it starts to grow again (likely after this mission).

It’s been a week or two now that HashKings has been sitting overdue (lost track at this point, but it’s definitely been a while). Did I fire up the computer and deal with it today? No.

Again, I can’t say that I’m really all that impressed by the amount that’s coming in from rental income, not going to pay too many bills or anything, but it is more than would otherwise be coming in at the end of the day.

Claimed my SPS interest for the day (kinda’ happy with myself that I hoarded most of the airdrop…getting two cookies later instead of one cookie now - although SPS has lost a lot of value in the meantime) and started to save up some liquid to swap out in a couple days as well as to pay the rental fee.

Got my stats for last week this morning. Only just barely, but I did break a hundred thousand steps for the week this time. 💪 Pretty harsh losing forty minutes on my sleep average…I can’t help but think the difference is the coffee.
