Nov. 4, 21: Routine, Early Teaching, Errands, Oculus, and Games

Up this morning slightly past five and only about twenty more minutes short. Unfortunately, it is seriously catching up with me now and I’m going dragging super hard and lacking gumption.

It wasn’t long after I used the bathroom that I noticed the toilet wasn’t refilling and was making a sucking noise. Started trying to diagnose the problem and found that all the taps had very little water pressure. After figuring that the problem was likely not with us, I wrote to the local Facebook group and the whole village was having the same problem. Apparently, a water main broke in town and now we have to boil our water to brush our teeth or drink. The pressure is back (although they’re still working on the issue) and the toilet functions properly again, so it was that.

That ate up some of the usual morning routine time, but I got on with it anyway. Was surprised to find that HIVE had had a nice pump back up over a dollar again:

But, of course, there’s no shortage of large accounts just itching to dump on any rally and nearly all the gains were immediately erased; no surprises there. Otherwise, things were mostly routine, but I did get an early enough start on my post that I was able to finish it before I had to start getting ready.

No issues with the drive today and I got in early. We didn’t really cover any new material per se, but we did get a couple new basic formulas (for arctan and arcsin) and practiced with some more examples. I think one of the coolest things about it is it allows us to calculate integrals that would be impossible. 🤓

Got home, grabbed a bit of lunch, and then headed in to town to run some errands. I got a super good deal last time I went to the puffity-puff store, so I was able to actually skip going in last week. I’m still doing alright, but I figured it would be a good idea to take care of it ahead of time and have an excuse to go to the hardware store as well.

I was hoping to get some gasket sealer for the oil pan gaskets (not going to use it on the pump, the chapter president said he doesn’t use it on that gasket, so I’ll go with what he said), some jack stands so I can start working on the brakes, and some new water filter replacements.

Got the gasket sealer, no problem, but I don’t really even need it yet, not until I’m putting it all back together (and I’m still tearing it apart). Even so, I will need it, might as well have it on hand for when I do. I also found the water filters…was a little uncertain as to whether I picked the right ones, but it turns out I did. 😀 The jack stands, however, were a bust.

They did have two bottle jacks for about the same price as two jack stands, but they didn’t have any real support on top, they were jacks, not stands. There was a set of two, but it was packaged as a set with a trolly jack and I already have one. I wrestled with getting the set (no real harm in having an extra jack), but decided the universe was telling me to wait for some reason. I’m betting a better deal or more appropriate set will come along soon.

After I got back from running errands, I started to drag really hard. I played a little bit of Oculus, but even that wasn’t able to hold my attention for very long. I had set for myself the goal to rebuild the oil pump, but I just couldn’t summon the motivation to get out there and do it.

Instead, I put on some Tick and laid down. Only got maybe a half an hour or so of shallow sleep, but at least a little cat nap. Didn’t feel all that much better when I got up, though, took me a long time to wake up and get moving again.

By that time Wenche got home and she made yummy chicken and rice for dinner and we watched the end of the first season of Scream Queens and I played Splinterlands until it was time for bed.

I have to be honest, though, starting to feel really bad again about not working on the website. Been stuck for a while and haven’t worked on it in weeks, maybe more than a month. I do acknowledge that I’ve been getting stuff done in the real world, particularly with the car, but I’m feeling the FOMO (you snooze, you lose).

Forty-eight is thirty-eight for no other reason than dShitty is shitty. I wonder why there aren’t users all flooding to Hive from all over to play this one?

Still stuck in the same crappy place with CryptoBrewmaster. It was clever of them to put pay walls in front of everything, otherwise they would have lost the vast majority of the value locked up in their “game.” Pretty sure I wouldn’t be the only rat jumping off this sinking ship if they would have let us. Meanwhile, I suppose the best I can do is give them negative press and call them out for being assholes in this little section of my daily post.

Just focused on lessons mostly today on Rising Star. In the evening I did go in to the market and got a couple new cards. Not sure why, but I did increase my income multiplyer which might help my ranking a little. 🤷

In the evening I also played through my Splinterlands quest and submitted my brawls.

I got on a nice win streak there and broke up into Gold II:

Had Sneak quest for my daily quest today and got it done up in Gold II. Got a couple commons, but kinda’ disappointed otherwise:
