Nov. 23, 21: Routine, Early Teaching, Errands, Oculus, and Games
Was woken up this morning a little before five (and about another hour and a half short ðŸ˜) by a damn mouse or something chewing in the bedroom ceiling. 🤬 The mice seem to be a never ending story…what have we got a cat for again?
Did my usual stuff in the morning. Really pleased that HIVE has continued growing! 💪 My account is definitely worth more at this point than it ever has, but not in any real sense, since I don’t intend to sell.
Got the basics of my post done and scheduled and then got ready for and drove into work. Went smooth again today and I was about fifteen minutes early. We looked at calculus on parametric curves, but I feel really bad that my integral examples didn’t go very well. We looked at one that we ended up going down a rabbit hole with (since it started blowing up infinities) since it had bad bounds…ended up in infinity minus infinity, which is indeterminate. 😡 Need to go back and see what I did or can do.
We also did the parametric version of the area of an ellipse, and it should have been simple and beautiful, but I ended with an extra negative (clearly the area is not negative) and I couldn’t find any error. I gave them the opportunity for a bonus point if they can find it, but it aggravates me since that was supposed to be an amazing one.
Got home and grabbed a sandwich for lunch. We have Thanksgiving break tomorrow and Thursday, so I was off for the looooong weekend. I usually run into town and do my errands after class on Thursday, but obviously not this Thursday, meaning I decided to get stuff done today as if it was Thursday.
Did my usual, but also stopped in to the hardware store and got a whole set (555! 🤩) of new cotter pins and the biggest can of Brakleen they had! Need those cotter pins to replace the ones I’ve had to remove in restoring the Model A and those brakes could use a very good cleaning since it doesn’t look like I’m going to be able to replace them (at least not economically).
Still have no solid plan for the master cylinder, but it seems that regardless of what I do I’m going to need to run new brake lines. It sort of seems like a no-brainer that if I’m going to have to replace the master cylinder anyway, I should put in a dual reservoir for the sake of safety…the trouble remains where to locate it so that it’s accessible.
Got home and was sort of thrown for a loop, got me tripping on a downward spiral 🌀 A few days ago I got an email saying I had to fill out a covid vaccine disclosure for work. The email looked really phishy, though, so I deleted it (although it’s been bothering me since then). Today I got another reminder email and so I asked the department chair and he verified that it was legit.
I filled it out, but I can see the writing on the wall. Obviously, for the time being I’m just doing what they’ve asked, not taking any moves myself…but I honestly don’t think even my income/livelihood is worth the risk of taking the experiment gene therapy that has now been found inside human nuclei (the spike protein) and appears to inhibit the repair of the most common form of cancer causing DNA 🧬 damage. Might have to go back to trading crypto for a living or it might be a blessing in disguise in the sense of forcing me to work on the website and all that. For now, I haven’t lost my job, but I can’t say I’m not worried.
That pretty much occupied my mind for the rest of the day and I didn’t really feel like tearing into the brakes yet, even though I have basically everything I need at least to try and clean them up, I played some Oculus instead.
Still working on Lucky’s Tale and got to the final boss, but it is extremely unforgiving and after dying twice at the last hit and having to completely start the whole sequence over again, I got annoyed and started going back through levels to pick up collectibles and try the time trial mode (nearly impossible to get gold as far as I can tell) and then played a couple songs on Beat Saber but didn’t do very well.
Wenche had set out meat for turkey taco Tuesday and so I got started with making that a little before she got home. She helped me finish up and we were done and cleaned up by six thirty!
We watched the last episodes of Deadbeat 😠and now we have yet again to hunt for something good to watch…she has her Vampire Diaries or whatever, but that really doesn’t interest me all that much. Twilight was bad enough dragged out over however many movies, dragging it out over seasons upon seasons is some form of torture. 😛😂
Played my Splinterlands quest for the day and was actually set with my steps and didn’t have to worry about it. Laid down and it wasn’t long before I was gone.
Fifty-four minus three is fifty-two, sounds about right for dShitty math. Again, I do have to admit that getting a trickle of HIVE every day is a LOT more than I can say for most of the other collectible card things on this chain. I (well, Solairitas) also got dropped some BXT (I think), the exchange token, so we’ll see what happens with that as well.
Still placating myself with the dillusion that CryptoSuckmaster removed the paywalls…don’t burst my bubble, I like my happy place.
Looks like I tipped over another level on Rising Star. I suppose I need to look toward increasing my fans if I’m intending to unlock the next mission. For now just been pounding the last one I unlocked. I’m surprised that I haven’t really had to switch over to lessons much, Ego has been fairly stable.
Splinterlands was back to being pretty harsh again today. I really was hoping to get to the next tier of Gold, especially before completing my quest for today, and I had a slight glimmer of hope, but nah, of course not.
Didn’t get all my battles in my history since they got pushed down by brawls, but it doesn’t matter much, mostly losses anyway.
I finally gave up on getting to Gold I and finished my Life quest basically in the same place I began. Ok rewards today:
Realized that I didn’t claim the SPS drop or the interest today, so decided to leave it and do it after the next one tomorrow.
