May 5, 22: Routine, Oculus, Errands, TV, and Games

[Holy crap! I do not know where my brain was…was working on this post and went to obsessively check for the fifth time that it was set to 100% HP, but instead hit the publish button. 😡🥴. It’s alright I guess, it would have only messed up Brofund bot and that’s no longer an issue, just hope editing doesn’t mess with my other voters.]

Slept about ten till six today, but it was very broken and I ended up over an hour short. I would say that it didn’t matter, but even with a Red Bull in the afternoon I ended up passing out watching Rick and Morty. 😭

Not a lot to note regarding the usual morning routine. We did see a brief respite from the reds in the crypto markets and for once my Polygon balance went up relative to ETH! Like .01, don’t get too excited, but better than the usual loss of that much.

Shifted around some H-E tokens, hit the faucets, did curation, all the normal things and then I went in to peek at the BRO market. Wasn’t much liquidity over 4, but a bit, and I sold. Still have 88 and change above the thousand…still haven’t decided if I want to unload the whole lot or not (pretty sure, but strategically to try and make my losses back).

Did some chores around the house, got my post done and shared, and then headed into town to my weekly errands. It’s Wenche’s birthday coming up and I’ve been stressing (like I do every time) about what to get her, so I went and did some additional shopping as well. I grabbed us a new bath mat too, since the other one was falling apart from too many washings…I like the new one, it’s very poofy. 😄

When I got home, I really needed to get everything reading for teaching starting Monday, but I just couldn’t summon the self-discipline and played Oculus instead.

I did finally get five stars on the headshot only level! That was a tough one and it took me a few tries to get it again today, but got the stars and then found a hiding spot and waited out the clock. 👍 Finally got enough to unlock the next bonus…big head mode in game; makes those headshot kills a lot easier. 🤣😁

I happened to notice that there was an update for Beat Saber…turns out there was a new music pack available, so I got it and tried the first couple songs. Did them completely raw on expert and did pretty well! Got the playthroughs recorded on video and shared. Really dug the first song, watched the video several times now. 🙂

When Wenche got home, she made us steaks and curly fries for dinner and we watched some more of The Librarians. I played a shitton of Splinterlands and then fell asleep in my clothes watching the tube.

Wow! Two days in a row of positive income?! Unreal!!! We did have General dShittiness today, but I guess I’m glad it actually had an effect? 🤷 With a staggering twenty-three SIM income, thinking I’ll take the wife for a night out on the town. 😛

I actually remembered to go in a couple times on Rising Star today, did a mission and my Ego was up to one percent, so did a lesson to get it back to zero. Need to decide what to do with this (or not, as the case may be)…already was bored with it and now I’m not confident in its sustainability; might be smart to get out while the getting is still good. I always seem to have too much faith in these sorts of things and end up losing more than I should have.

From what I’ve heard it takes like forty or fifty attempts, on average, to get a complete band…sounds like even more boring slogging (and that was what I was hoping for), with little to look forward to and ridiculous top-down fiats my opinion of this game is hitting the bedrock.

Speaking of games for which I do not hold very high esteem (honestly, most of the “games” on this chain continue to be carbon sucky copies of eachother more or less and none of them seem to have any kind of tokenomics sense - not sure why I keep pissing myself off with all of them), yet another day passes on HashKings.

Three more days to wait, and after weeks upon weeks they’re still unable to display the correct png. These guys want DHF money (to put in their pockets)?!?! 😂

Was late, again, before I got going on my Splinterlands quest. 😢 I thought about it a couple times earlier, but didn’t feel like playing…not until it got late and I forced myself to play so as to try and reset earlier (which didn’t happen). I did stick with it, though, and am now actually caught up on my daily quests.

I got Dragon splinter for my quest again and it didn’t go too badly. Made some solid progress in Gold I, but still only getting moderate (if not slightly crappy) rewards:

Reset my quest and got three wins without neutral monsters, so decided to go for it. Got a little more DEC this time, but still not really very good:

My SPS drop is still holding just slightly above one hundred and just staked it for today (not sure what else I’d really do with them - I guess I do have some in a pool, but those interest rates suuuuck). Got two packs just sitting there, but they don’t seem to help all that much; better than four commons and a rare, I guess.

Still haven’t made any more moves with vouchers, but my balance is piling up a little considering I don’t really have any intention of buying any more packs…it’s just that unknown of: maybe they might be worth something to me later on. Really feeling the need to do something with those since I’ve been bottom bouncing on my liquid, but I’ve been selling off a little BRO here and there to maintain.
