Jan. 9, 22: Routine, Grocery Shopping, Napping, TV, and Games
Not sure why FitBit says I was up at four this morning, pretty sure it was three again. Either way, the snoring had me up several times and then finally out of bed. š¢ Itās been rough the last three or four nights (and Iāve only really had one solid night since the wife got home), and itās adding up big time. By the time afternoon comes, Iām toast.
Did the usual morning stuff, just early, and not too much going on with that. Cryptos still bottom bouncing, so more or less sideways, but a little uptrend. Now that I dialed back my DeFi position Iām a lot more comfortable with it. Still keep an eye on it fairly frequently, but I feel safe enough for the moment. Really think I need to bridge some more ETH overā¦dumb to have it just sitting there.
I played some Splinterlands early to finish my quest that I quit on the day before and was able to include my daily reward in my post for the day. Sat around waiting for the time that I could post without getting skipped by brofund and then did my sharing and that stuff and we headed into town to do the grocery shopping. (PUM is still in the bag! šŖ)
We had some coupons and some things were on sale, so even though we got quite a bit, it didnāt cost much more than usual. In additional happy news, they finally got restocked on slippers and had a pair in my size that I was able to exchange for the ones I got last week; even better, they were $4 cheaper so we got cash back! š¤
Got back and put everything away, had some lunch, and then laid down to watch some tube waiting for the washing machine to finish the bedsheets. Wasnāt long before my eyes started to roll and despite my best efforts I was out for a good hour or so.
Luckily, I only felt moderately crappy when I woke up and was able to sort of get on with the day. We spent a little intimate time and then Wenche made us some pancakes for dinner and we watched more Crazy Ex Girlfriend.
Hate to say it, but that was it really. I suppose groceries was something that needed to be done that I did and I credited my productivity score for that, but beyond? Nah, not much to point to. Canāt wait for the warmer weather when procrastinating means that I go out and putz on the car getting bits and bobs done. Havenāt thought too much about that recently, still absolutely frozen with what to do about the brakes, but Iām leaning more and more towards biting the bullet and going back to original mechanical brakes, but not made a solid decision one way or the other.
I did ask a dev friend for a bit of direction as far as how to structure the commands when querying the chain, but so far not heard back. Iām more than likely making it more complicated than it really is (did a bot before, but itās been a while and Iām not confident about what has been changed in the intervening forks). As Iāve said before, though, getting that going will be a watershed milestoneā¦at that point all the actual functionality of reading and writing and making dB changes and all that as a result will be real and I can start asking people to try and break stuff.
Been watching some tutorials and I think Iām going to stick with my decision to do the game in Unity. The new Unreal 5 does have amazing rendering, but the relative simplicity of C# and the tools and resources that are available for Unity seem to greatly outweigh, at least for me as a (novice) indie developer. The royalty situation with Unity seems to be much more favorable to devs as well, but I donāt really have to worry about that until muuuuch further down the line (like more than $100k). I wonder how that might work considering I had planned on giving the game away for free. š¤
Once again dShitty is only the basic shitty that it has become with no extra spice thrown on top! š² Itās coming, woah buddy, itās coming, just you waitā¦
I continued pounding lessons on Rising Star and got my Ego all the way down to nothing. Started with missions again just trying to build toward unlocking the next mission. Might do a bit more digging in the market to see if I can find any relatively cheap rare cards that might move the dial a little since I do have a fairly decent stash of Starbits saved up.
I did play a bit of Splinterlands today, but even though Water splinter should have been relatively easy, I ended up getting frustrated and rage quit for the night.
Felt bad leaving, though, and went in and played this morning to finish out the quest and this section of my post.
Finally broke up into Gold I! š„³ The going is getting tougher, but hopefully I can make it to Diamond this season.
It was sketchy close, but I got the quest done just over the line into Gold I. Got a few cards and a tiny bit of DEC:
I got my rewards from the brawl and, even though I did wicked bad, I got enough to put me over the edge for two Gladiator packs:
Got a couple of those guys leveled up to level two at least now! š
Not sure why since packs are still extremely expensive in terms of SPS, but I took my chances again and got five more packs with my drop from today and then staked what little remained. Did quite a bit better this time; some Epics, a couple summoners, and a couple gold foil:
Those vouchers are really burning a hole in my pocket at this point. I should just be happy with whatever I can get out of them since theyāre airdropped to begin with, but you know, greed. (or, rather, rational self-interest) š
