[Holy crap, basically as soon as I got up I started thinking about only being halfway through making sure the Ledger is working properly and been stressing about the fact that my software wallet address is legacy whereas the Ledger address is native segwit...from what I can tell so far segwit support was added to the software wallet in June of last year and it didn't fire me an error when I entered the segwit address into the send transaction, so I think it's alright, but damn, I'm nervous about it (and don't really want to pay the fees to test it first)...I could create a legacy wallet on the Ledger, but I would like to be able to take advantage of the lowered transaction fees. 🤔 Anyway, been looking into all that and making my stomach churn and now realized it's nine o'clock and I haven't even started on my post for today! 😱 We'll see how it goes.]

Got to bed a little earlier last night than I have been, fell asleep around nine thirty. Slept alright for the most part until the cat woke me up around five thirty. Not too bad, though, only twenty minutes short and I didn't drag too bad at all. 😃

The morning routine is still taking a little getting used to, but it's starting to get a lot smoother now that I've gotten most of my accounts straightened out and I understand where stuff is getting saved and how the different programs behave.

I still had the goal to paint the blackboard today, but for like the third day in a row it was raining out and I used the excuse that the air is damp to procrastinate on it further. The other main goal (and one of the only things left to get properly going) was the Ledger...had all my crypto in a software wallet since the beginning, and I'll tell you my heart pounds every time I open it, but more on that in a sec.

I got a solid early start working on my post and ended up writing yet another epic, like eighteen hundred words; actually been averaging closer to fifteen hundred than not lately, which is great, means I have something to say, regardless of how trivial it may all be in the grand scheme.

Got done in time for our weekly PIMP meeting over on Discord and it was a very eventful one today! A lot of people showed up, don't think I've ever seen that many (I guess this is definitely a better time for people) and Ecoinstant came and talked with us about INCOME and EcoBank. 😁

I'm in on INCOME and have been since close to the beginning as a collab with Solairitas (as well as ARCHON, actually, which is even my main post tag), but as a US investor I'm not willing to touch EcoBank as much as I'd like to. It's 100% a security and he even warns US investors anyway...it's as much for his protection as mine, but I think he's already taken investment from US people, so I think he's already on the hook (subject to the jurisdiction of US law).

Entrepidus and Spiritsurge were there as well as Jim-crypto, so we got some updates about some of the new games coming out as well. 👍

Once the meeting ended (went long, like two hours) and I'd posted and shared, I started looking to take the dog out for a walk but it was rainy and nasty out, so I decided to wait until later and try to tackle the Ledger instead.

Got Ledger Live installed on my new desktop (got Metamask on there as well so I have pretty much everything in case the laptop finally dies - which isn't too far away, I don't think) and got the firmware updated...twice, in fact, seems I was a couple behind!

I guess I'd never actually connected it to a computer before, so even though I had BTC installed on it, I don't think I'd ever even made an account. 🤯 I also realized that the reason that it wouldn't turn on except when it was plugged in was just that the battery was drained, let it charge for a couple hours and that's no problem.

Once I actually had some accounts created and got the desktop app synced up with the mobile I decided to give it a test before I risk any BTC or ETH in the process and decided to use Doge (actually costed me a lot more than I thought it would, but at the end of the day spending a quarter or so to test first is better than losing everything because I made some technical mistake).

I really like how easy it is now to swap from HIVE to other chains via the swap.tokens!!! Got some Doge and sent it over to the Ledger wallet. Worked great (other than the like half-hour wait for H-E to actually send the withdrawal) and I'm pleased that the balances update and are all good...still need to test sending, though, which I figured I'll do tomorrow.

Spent quite a bit more OCD time figuring out the various cloud storage accounts I have, cleaning them up some and deleting old files, and getting my phone profile (Samsung account) properly set up and deleted the old "me" contacts. Seems like I might have gotten a couple more album covers for my music collection, but I didn't spend nearly as much time on that today.

As it started to get later, though, the rain cleared up and it wasn't bad out at all, so I took the dog for a loop around downtown. I was set to go down past the lake, but he turned toward home when I gave him the choice, so it didn't actually end up being very long.

This is January?! OK!!! 😁

For the rest of the evening I mostly chatted over on Discord and finally made myself sloppy joes for dinner and got a much needed shower and change of clothes (I really need to wash the bedsheets as well, they're pretty ripe at this point).

Got ready for bed fairly early again and watched a few episodes of Letterkenny before falling asleep.

Pretty sure I remembered to go in twice on Rising Star again today. That's like three days in a row! 👏 Maybe I'll make progress in six months rather than a year? 🤷‍♂️ Otherwise, the site loads so ridiculously slow that it's almost unusable since you have to force refresh for everything.

Kinda' sad that I'm actually happy with a dollar, but at least my Splinterlands rental income hit $1.1 for today. At this point I think I'm averaging around a dollar fifty a day, maybe a little less, which is a bit frustrating. Still, I have had enough liquid to be able to take some punts and play around with other projects without having to input any fiat, so I am thankful for that.

Did the usual claim and paid the rental fee and still keeping the SPS liquid with the intent to swap out once the balance is over a hundred...now that I think about it, it's been a while since I checked on my vouchers as well, might be time to take a peek.
