Jan. 29, 22: Routine, SM Card Drop, Chilling, TV, and Games

Man! I’m having a wicked time trying to remember where the day went! 😱 Seems like it just zip came and went and I totally missed it. Spent pretty much all of it staring at the phone for one reason or another. 😛

Anyway, I fell asleep super early last night, like around seven, and slept all the way through until five; so, even with the usual disruptions, I got a solid eight and a half hours! 🥳💪

Not too much interesting to note regarding the usual morning routine, at least as far as the routine stuff goes. Cryptos are recovering somewhat and we saw some nice green in the markets today, but we’re not anywhere close to busting out the champagne yet. My Aave position is looking really healthy (perhaps enough to bump it back up again), but still hesitant and just left it alone for now. I rolled up a bunch of smokes, does that count for accomplishing something? 😛

I suppose there was one unusual thing that came up in the process: we got a new airdrop card on Splinterlands! I got super lucky this time and pulled three!!! 😄

Vouchers had gotten a nice bump, like 26% up, so I sold some out and bought some more 1UP. Some I staked to Solairitas and the rest I put into the HIVE:1UP pool…gotten a bit nutty going into all these diesel pools now, up over a couple hundred bucks all told, feel like there’s a major risk I’m missing somewhere. 🤔

Otherwise, worked on shifting and staking tokens on H-E, chatted on Discord, hit the faucets, all that jazz. I got my post done and shared for the day (right up against the end of Power Up Month now and still got it in the bag - think it’s fallen even farther now, only something around forty people left in the running) and then went in to try and get my Splinterlands quest done but just got frustrated again. Went back to it later on, though, like for serious.

Still got jury duty/teaching stress hanging over my head and still frustrated that that impetus keeps firing off when I can’t do anything about it and still don’t know. One of my potential subs was asking me what was up, so I let them know where we are in class, but couldn’t say yet whether or not I’d actually need them; not really fair to anyone, but you know, civic duty doesn’t care about fairness. We summon you to jump, don’t ask how high, instructions will be given to you on when and how high high to jump, but not until right before you have to jump, so get ready. 😛😂

Saw a shill post about Meme Token by @rentmoney and got a little more interested. Went over to the market and nearly bought 25k, even had the transaction filled out, but then second guessed it and backed away. I’m getting a bit already from drips and/or pools and have been staking it over to @solairitas, but a little gunshy taking punts on tribes since Blogtoken hasn’t done that well and I’m already working on 1UP for The Project. Mainly it was the opportunity costs…not really sure of the benefit of Meme other than the possibility to have a large balance early on versus PIZZA stake rewards or pool liquidity rewards. I still might take a punt, though.

I got some lunch and then plopped in front of the tube with the wife watching her vampire drama show. I played a ton of Angry Birds again, for goodness knows what reason, and then decided it was high time to shave my head.

Cut my hair, jumped in the shower, and Wenche joined me. 😉 That was more or less it, I suppose. She made us some chicken and rice and salad for dinner and we switched over to bingeing Workaholics some more.

I played a shitton of Splinterlands while we watched TV and then I had some marching to do to finish my steps for the day. Got ready for bed and laid down to watch some more, but didn’t make it very long.

Been trying to think a bit more about my thesis work, but I feel like there’s some key understanding I’m missing somewhere, some theorem that would unlock the proof (or at least a path to pursue) if only I knew it or could make the connection. Otherwise, though, just round in circles rehashing the same ideas and proofs and not really getting anywhere.

I still believe in my initial intuition that the answer lies in the geometry somewhere, but looking at the solutions to systems of modular equations, despite all we do know about them, is like looking at a black box. Even though I can prove that the solution exists for every step (for every Natural Number), I don’t really have that much information about the solution itself (particularly its magnitude - which is what I need).

Even though my stated dShitty income is still only five, and my Shopping Mall got robbed, somehow I got a whopping fifteen SIM today! Happy days, until I remember I should have gotten around four hundred, and that’s why it’s shitty.

I did peek around at the market on Rising Star today, but not really in earnest. I didn’t find any cards that struck my fancy, but I also didn’t look very hard. Got a couple more missions done and my Ego is still under control, so basically just the usual with this.

Today I was determined to get caught up with my Splinterlands quests come hell or high water. Though I did miss a day, at least I did get caught back up.

It took a lot of time and patience, more than would fit in my history, but here’s what I could see:

With only just over a day left in the season, I’ve pretty much abandoned all hope for Diamond II, but I was able to get back into and maintain Diamond III. Kinda’ considering just leaving it now until the reset.

Finished the Dragon quest I had from two days ago and got Sneak quest for today. Got them both done in Diamond III, but nothing amazing, a little bit of DEC and a couple Rare:

SPS did go up slightly, but not quite enough for me to be willing to spend them on packs, so just staked again. Like I said before, I moved out and sold some vouchers, but still have fifty or so left sitting on the market (didn’t want to blow it all at once, even though the price was up). Have to say that that’s been a real boon getting those vouchers for staking SPS…selling some of them off has opened up a lot of opportunities. 👍
