Feb. 1, 23: Routine, PIMP Meeting, Oculus, Airport, and Games

As I mentioned in the beginning of my post yesterday, last night was pretty rough. I fell asleep just after Wenche got home, around eight thirty, but was woken up at around ten thirty by the cat howling and Wenche gagging and a horrific smell.

A few days ago the cat came home a little worse for wear and was limping a bit, had a cut on his ear, and a nasty wound on his neck...looked like he probably got into a fight. He was kind of sluggish for the past couple days and I was worried about him, but figured he might just be recovering.

He didn't seem to be coming around, though, and I was thinking that his neck may have gotten infected, and yeah, it burst and he was bleeding and oozing puss bad (poor kitty). 😭

Wenche was taking care of him and trying to keep the mess to a blanket and I figured that too many cooks spoil the broth (he doesn't like the attention at all, especially when it's the two of us) and I tried to stay out of it, but I was definitely worried and awake and I got up again, got dressed, had a smoke, and then tried to get back to bed.

I had that annoying hyperawareness where you're super tired but totally wide awake and every little sound is like a jet plane roaring through your head (or is that just me that gets that occasionally?) and that's when the snoring got going for earnest and I moved out to the couch some time shortly after midnight.

Woke up at five to the sound of the neighbor's truck firing (wasn't too happy about that) but I did end up with a full eight hours for the night. 👍

Got a fairly early start on the morning routine and I guess the crypto markets were pretty much in a holding pattern waiting for the announcement from the Fed (so dumb that our "free market" is entirely dictated by these a-hole central planners) and we were kinda' mixed with red and green and neither very far to either side.

Otherwise, did the usual morning stuff...I do have to say that it's frustrating as hell; I've got several Solairitas members who keep transferring SOL around (in the past people have just hodled, so it wasn't much of an issue, but then again .rocks worked as well) and I can't see any of it happening...now that .rocks is completely borked, there's no way for me to search to find the transactions without already knowing they happened and what account. 🤬 I really don't want to have to fight with Hive/H-E coding bullshit to make my own tool from scratch just for that, especially since it should be basic explorer functionality...good luck getting anyone to fix it.

Anyway, got my post done for the day and headed over to Discord for the weekly PIMP meeting. We had Powerpaul from CryptoCompany CEO scheduled to come talk with us about their project today, but I guess he missed the time and we ended up mostly just bullshitting and actually ended the meeting relatively early.

I honestly don't know what my major malfunction was/is, but despite wanting to accomplish something for the day, I just couldn't pin down anything in particular that I could go for and I wasted the afternoon playing Oculus.

Worked on the proper two hundred piece version of the puzzle I was working on in Puzzling Places (did the easy version where they sort the pieces for you of that one already) and then played a few rounds of Beat Saber so I could justify it as "exercise." 😜

Wenche was heading back to Norway again this evening (the band she played with is having their thirtieth anniversary party and she's going to surprise them by showing up 😁) so I grabbed some cereal for dinner and then we hopped in the shower quick after she got done with work.

The drive to the airport and back went fine, but it was pretty late by the time I got home and got settled back in. I basically just got ready for bed, put on a bit of Letterkenny and passed out.

Splinterlands:
My Splinterlands rental income fell again to a dollar twenty. 😢 I guess at this point I should just celebrate that it wasn't less than a dollar? I don't know if it's the rental bot that's messed up or if all their machinations have just backfired and people aren't really playing or what the deal is, but I'm starting to get more serious about considering selling everything and parking it in HBD at 20%, has to be a better return than what I'm getting now. 🤔

Did the normal SPS claim and paid the rental fees, then staked the rest for today (and yesterday since I totally forgot to stake it). One more day to stake and then I'll start saving up again to swap out.

What's this, three or four days now of zero income?! dShitty is, simply, absolute shit and an utter lie...buy cards, earn SIM? Nope. They are not making good on the whole fundamental idea of their fucking game.

It's been like years now I've done nothing but complain about this hot garbage, not sure why I've held faith that it would turn around this long...probably 'cus I knew Gerber from before he had any britches (let alone got too big for them) but I really think it's past time I dropped this shite altogether.

Actually went in twice today on Rising Star. I literally had drunks on top of drunks. Five percent from the first set and then another set for eight percent bringing my zero Ego that I put effort into maintaining to thirteen percent. 🤬 They've finally expired now and my Ego was properly at one percent, so I'm running a lesson for now.

Speaking of dumpworthy shittokens...there's the HashKings "ecosystem!" 🤣 From the sound of things, now that they're destroying their failed MOTA token, they've got yet another. You can't make this shit up.

GLX:
Hrm, just like SPS, GLX is slipping too. Today the forty I pulled out weren't even worth two HIVE. 😢 Still, starting to get my liquid built back up so might look to start spending some more here soon; otherwise still staked the rest and am waiting for GLGT to be something.

WOO:
There we go, getting about fifty for my stake and 250 for my delegation...close enough, anyway, to call those nice round numbers. 😃

Claimed the drop for today but didn't get any more mining rewards, as usual.

CCC:
We had a bit of a misunderstanding about the meeting time with Powerpaul and the PIMP meeting but he came over to the Castle and did his spiel later on and I caught the second half or so.

Been dipping my toes into this one here and there and I have some CCD and SQM giving me some CCPower. I still don't seem to have the promised beta access, but I'm not sure if the development is that far along yet anyway.

There was an opportunity to get some extra perks by being one of the first ninety-nine people to subscribe and so I jumped on the opportunity:

I don't have as much of an itch to get deeper in this as I seem to have for WOO, but I am thinking about maybe boosting my CCPower with a little more SQM (they're expensive, though).
