Dec. 6, 22: Routine, PIMP Meeting, World Cup, Teaching, TV, and Games

[Well, hum, today is the first day in a while that there’s no fooosball. ⚽️ Have to wait a couple days for the next game…means my day is wide open other than teaching, should probably get a walk in at least.]

Got to bed around ten again last night but was up again around one or so when I moved out to the couch and then was up again at three and four. 😢 Got up about quarter to seven when everybody started moving around and ended up another forty-five minutes short on sleep. I dozed off during the second game, but only for like ten minutes or something…enough to know that I’m on the precipice of collapsing but not enough to catch up at all. 😡

Got on with the usual morning routine and cryptos were still sitting at the higher end of the range, but more or less sideways. With FTX and all the fallout from that, it is a testament to the resilience of BTC that it hasn’t crashed a lot harder than it has…I’m still occasionally hearing calls for $10k, but not quite as much as I was.

Otherwise, lost a bit more on Polygon against ETH…really getting close to pulling out of that (should have a while ago, probably) but still haven’t made a move. Last time I tried to use pHBD as a bridge I remember it being very frustrating and not working on the phone…makes me nervous, especially with a fairly large amount.

Did the usual morning curation, token shifting, and all that, but in the process of getting caught up on Discord I saw an announcement to vote for new collections to be added to Dungeon Master. I’d let Raven know that they were looking and she had applied, so I voted and then let her know that it was going on (they didn’t tell her anything). Pretty sure the other collection won, though. 😢

Tomorrow is the start of season seven on Dungeon Master…thinking this one might be the decider for me. If I’m still only getting two thirds contribution and that crap this will be the last time; for now I’m trying to be hopeful that this season will go more smoothly than last.

Luckily, it sunk in early that today was Tuesday and there was Pimp meeting and I got a wicked early start on my post. In fact, I actually was able to get it done in time for the meeting and didn’t have to worry about it.

Can’t think of any big takeaways from our meeting this time, just kind of chatted for a bit, talked about some of the projects we’re already invested in but there wasn’t any more new projects to look into (and my pocketbook breathes a sigh of relief).

Once the meeting finished and I got my post published, it was kickoff for the last day of the World Cup round of sixteen.

The first game was Spain versus Morocco and I watched the stalemate first half, got my usual lunch at halftime, and then the stalemate second half…then the stalemate overtime into penalty kicks! 😯 In a surprise upset, Morocco won 3-0 and Spain goes home!!!!

With the extra time, there was only about an hour before the second game and I got to work preparing my notes for calculus class this evening. I got a couple pages worth done and then quit to watch.

The second game was between Portugal and Switzerland and it was a trouncing, as expected. I don’t think anyone really expected how BAD a spanking it would be, though…seemed like Portugal could basically score at will and we saw our first hat-trick! Even with Ronaldo out (he came in and scored late, but it was called back offside) they smashed the Swiss six to one.

After the game finished I got myself a bowl of cereal for dinner and finished working through examples for my notes, got a shower and got everything set up for class. Today we looked at Stokes’s Theorem that lets us turn a three dimensional line integral through a vector field into a double integral of the curl of the field dotted with the outward facing normal vector. 🤓

It definitely sounds more complicated than it actually is…really we just practiced finding the equation of a plane, finding curl, and doing the dot product (all stuff we know how to do, just putting together for a specific purpose) and even with covering all the odd questions from the section of the book we ended about twenty minutes early.

Wenche had made some fried bacon and potatoes, so I grabbed a bit of that after class and then tried to wind down. Basically just got ready for bed and watched some Superstore until falling asleep.

Despite my stated dShitty income coming back above zero and not having any crime or crises or anything, still my actual income is significantly down from where it was before. Don’t ask me, it’s an endless stream of “mafs” that I don’t understand. At least it paid out something, which is where the bar is currently set.

For once I don’t have any drunk fans on Rising Star, but my Ego was starting to grow again, so running a lesson at the moment to get it back down. Still ten levels to go before unlocking the next mission and not halfway to millionaire…think it’s been a month since the last time I said that exact same thing. 😡

Speaking of a month, it has to have been at least that long since I sat at the computer to deal with HashKings. I did see a couple more seeds come in on my H-E feed, but who knows since the mobile site is completely busted at this point?

Did slightly better today than yesterday, a whole ten cents better for $1.5. 🤷 Somehow, having changed nothing, I’m making less than half of what I was when I started (and I was already kind of disappointed with that). Ah, well, it’s better than all the other games combined times ten, so that’s something (sort of).

Even though I don’t receive any benefit whatsoever from being in the guild any more I decided to contribute 500 DEC just because it had been a while.

Claimed my SPS interest and paid the rental fee and am leaving for he rest liquid for now saving up to swap out. I checked on my voucher balance and I could stand to move some more of those out as well, but I don’t really feel the itch at the moment, just letting them accrue.

Didn’t interact with these today. Got another week to wait for KOD and I still don’t seem to have access to CCC.
