Dec. 26, 22: Routine, Chores, Grocery Shopping, Laps, TV, and Games

[Oh, crap! Although I have gotten a decent start on my post this morning, I just realized it’s Tuesday and we have our PIMP meeting! 😯 Still got about half an hour (but seems like I’m having to fight the autocorrect again 😡) so we’ll see if I can get done in time…]

Woot! Fell asleep around quarter past nine
last night (a bit early, but not too bad). The cat woke me up howling that he could see the bottom of his food bowl and again later, but I got up, gave him more food and he left me alone until I got up just before seven for nearly nine and a half hours of sleep!!!! 🥳 My motivation level is creeping up by the day and I didn’t drag too hard, even resisted the temptation to play Quest and got a few things taken care of around the house instead. 😁

Did all the normal routine after I got up this morning. Other than the usual stuff, there was the Astral Revelations pre-sale announcement on Discord and I got that sent in. Cryptos are still range bound for the most part and BTC is holding $16.8k like it’s the front line, but HIVE wants to go down to spite the trend.

Checked on the SOL market and there were a few sales. 😁🤩☀️ I took care of that and got the funds staked up, swapped out the HBD it had and staked that as well.

Got my post done and published and shared and then decided to head into town to get the grocery shopping done that I’d skipped yesterday. Didn’t really need all that much (and they didn’t have eggnog any more 😭) so even with buying Caraway seeds (which were expensive!) I was out well under a hundred this time. 👍

Got the stuff put away, got some lunch, and then did some cleaning up in the kitchen and took out the garbage and found a very large, very ded mouse in the trap in the cupboard so got it out…then cleaned myself (had been a couple days 🤢).

Did a little bit of experimenting with my new watch today. Went in and found that there was an indoor walking activity that I could add and I tried it out (did alright, but didn’t use the GPS - I think it used my stride length to figure the distance, but not sure):

I also continued playing with the Garmin Coach and I had some short intervals scheduled today…I tried to do it as a “virtual run,” but then it wanted me to link to some other app so I tried it with the Run activity. That used the GPS, but it didn’t like me doing laps from the kitchen to the living room too much, so in both cases the distance is pretty suspect:

I also joined the weekly step challenge against nine other random people…so far, I’m leading the pack! 💪 It looks like second position is going to be a challenger.

Made myself some egg noodles and fried turkey for dinner and watched Tower Heist, a movie with Eddy Murphy and Ben Stiller and a bunch of other stars. I did really enjoy it, especially the scene where they were hanging off the tower…literally made me adrenaline sick. 😂

Once the movie finished I got ready for bed and hunted around for something to watch since SuperStore is done. I ended up putting on Letterkenny…totally funny, at least the parts I can understand 😆, frickin’ Canadians barely speaking English!

I guess, at this point, my dShitty income is so suppressed that crimes and crises simply have no effect. Today the Sun was shining and the birds were twittering and all was happiness and peace, yet I still only got two SIM out of the nearly four hundred I should have gotten (without all the taxes and extra bullshit they invented so as not to pay).

Nice. My Splinterlands rental income is falling again by about twenty cents a day. Pulled in a dollar twenty in DEC on like $21k worth of investment…I mean, versus opportunity costs, I don’t know, not that great.

As I said, I’ve pretty much burned through all my liquid HIVE the last couple days and I pulled my DEC and SPS out. Still haven’t swapped them, though; not exactly sure what I’m waiting for. Claimed today’s interest, paid the rental fee, and staked the rest.

Got some more BUDS today from the Pizza giveaways…Double edged sword with that one, they’re the only reason I got into it in the first place and the only “progress” I’ve really made with it (other than clicking buttons, refreshing, and waiting Werks, oh and leveling up my avatar to where it is).

GLX:
Just claiming and staking without any other plan at this point…not even sure if it’s worth a section here, but I suppose I do interact with it on a daily basis and there’s at least something to update and take a picture of (unlike HashKings 😡).

WOO:
My stake rewards were back at fifteen today, so remaining fairly stable there. Seems like I’ve been staking quite a bit lately, but I suppose other people are as well and it balances out. 🤷

Still no mining rewards (gotten like 2000 lifetime, but it’s not very frequent) but got a couple more cards from Pizza giveaways staked up, so hopefully that will help (but I’m not holding my breath).

Today was the Astral Revelations pre-sale and I sent my HBD in shortly after the announcement on Discord that it had begun. Got the two thousand ASTRA from the starter pack and went in and bought another thousand and staked them up for the STELLARUM drop coming up.

Didn’t have the buyer’s remorse I expected, but it was slightly bittersweet…got the tokens (but at the moment there aren’t any stake rewards other than the drop coming - yet), but the site is still “a new WordPress site” and so no way to interact with it at all other than staking the H-E tokens (and so no picture to share). 😢

Now, to be fair, I absolutely knew that the card minting would come later; it was a pre-sale after all, but it’s kinda’ like getting the toy you wanted for Christmas and not being able to get the batteries for it until the stores open tomorrow…

I’m also still a little worried that I’m going to have to be pinned to the PC to play (we’ve seen how well that worked out for my HashKings involvement, and CryptoShots as well). I have it in my head that there was going to be a mobile app, but I’m not sure if it’s because someone said that or if I made it up. 🤷

For now, it’s a punt, hopefully getting in early will prove to have been smart down the road; time will tell.
