Apr. 30, 22: Routine, Short Walk, TV, and Games

My back was bothering yesterday, and I decided to take some painkillers before bedtime. Would you guess it? Got a solid nine hours again, just like last week when I took them before bed! Unfortunately, I fell asleep pretty early and didn’t see the end of the movie we rented, but I woke up for a bit and watched some Bullshit. Slept all the way until about quarter of six and woke up of my own accord. Didn’t drag too hard, but my productivity level is still essentially null. 😢 Got to get some motivation!!!

The morning routine was painful today. The crypto markets are looking seriously ugly across the board and BTC is threatening a serious bear move…lost even more now on Polygon, so going to have to continue paying opportunity costs waiting for an exit that doesn’t lock in even more losses. 🤬

As a vague update, the price of BRO seems to be recovering. Not sure if that’s buybacks or what (don’t really care to go digging to find out), for now I’m going to hope and assume that it means he’s doing something to fix the issues. It’s not that I care about the price for the sake of selling it…it’s the only palliative for the pain of my FIRE loss, and can try to justify everything by saying I’m at least not completely worse off on balance.

Otherwise, did curation, took care of SOL, shifted and staked some H-E tokens, chatted on Discord, played my Wordles, and worked on my post for the day…same ol’. [Got the Power Up Month badge again! 💪] I did, actually, do quite well on the Wordles; had three guesses left on Octordle and two on Sedecordle (or maybe it was the other way round - whatever I had several guesses remaining). 🤓

Was having wicked trouble with Wordle, couldn’t even find a word to make a guess, but I left it for a bit and wouldn’t you know it? I was doing something completely different and all of a sudden the answer just popped into my head!!! 😁🧐

We needed to take the movie back down to the store, so we took the dog for a short walk there and back. In that short time, he managed to poop and pick up a HUGE tick. 😱🤬 Wenche had ordered the flea and tick medicine, though, and it came today, so I got it on him right quick!

Still doesn’t seem quite willing to let winter go. 😢 Not bad when the sun shines ☀️, but as usual the wind was nippy. 🥶

Not really a proper walk, but we did get out a little. Jumped over to Crim’s show on PAL Discord for a bit and then we had some shower time.

Wenche made us pork chops and curly fries and salad for dinner and we watched some of the new episodes of Frankie and Gracie. It’s pretty funny, even though I feel a little Boomerish in the fact that I enjoy it.

She went out for a game night with some of the ladies from work, so I watched Oculus (for the second time, pretty sure) and then put on some Ghosted before falling asleep.

Not exactly sure what nasty effect fires are supposed to have, but I seem to be more or less at peak shittiness and have the same negative thirty-five stated, six actual dShitty income.

Fairly certain it was a one mission day again on Rising Star. To that extent, I do take some responsibility for my insanely slow progress, but I mainly only think about it when I do this part of my post.

HiveWallet does, almost always, remain open in the background in the hole that it will at least save me from having to type out the entirety of their ridiculously long web address and my username…sometimes I get lucky and only have to type my username, oh and refresh the browser, of course. 🥴

One more day left until harvest on HashKings, which means Monday when I have teaching all day and grading to do. 😡

Did get a ping on Discord from them asking for support for their DHF proposal. They’re going to take at least part of the money and put it in their pockets. I’m surprised they got Blocktrades support considering how much money they seem to have for throwing at H-E to create endless tokens and enable staking and all the rest. It’s yet another (by their own admission) unsustainable economy and they’re looking for Hive to bail them out…not something I’d vote for, but good luck.

Once again, I had little to no desire to play Splinterlands at all today. I did, briefly consider it in the evening, but meh. I did go in earlier in the day and made sure to put in all my guild brawl battles and I got my reward later on, but I didn’t quite have enough to get another Gladiator pack yet.

No daily quest rewards for like the third day in a row now. 🤬 Guess I should try and get caught up again as much as I can. Time is ticking on the new season as well.

Went in and claimed and staked my SPS drop. Seems like I forgot to do it yesterday (or it jumped significantly), but staked up what was there. Still haven’t sold any vouchers or moved any more out, but my liquid is getting low again…
