My Actifit Report Card: October 17 2022 - Naples's city centre 5 - I Am Alive Challenge - IAAC #176
A dear greeting to all lovers of physical activities that populate the mythical community of Actifit.
Continue the beautiful sunny days in this part of autumn that proves to be more and more like summer. Temperatures are rising more and more and today it is back to feel the heat in the late afternoon.
In the morning large cleaning at home and after lunch I put my shoes to venture through the streets of the historic center of Naples today we will pass along Corso Giuseppe Garibaldi.
This is a historic artery of the city that has taken the current form with the Italian unification and starts from the port where once the first European railway, the "Naples-Portici" and arrives in Via Foria. Right here I arrive Giuseppe Garibaldi by victorious train and the road took its current name.
Let me tempt you from the mythical Carraturo pastry shop where they make the best sfogliatelle of Naples arrival at one of the oldest areas of the city.
Here there was one of the main gates of the Kingdom of Naples or "Porta-Capuana" from which the road to Capua started and is now decorated in Renaissance style.
At this point I climb towards Via Foria via Carbonara where I had never walked and I find this magnificent church the "San Giovanni Carbonara" coupled with the church of Pietatella.
Climbed along the beautiful and endless road I have emptied on Via Foria in front of the church of San Carlo all'Arena.
To find the way back to the original route of Corso Garibaldi I had to walk all the way to Via Foria and get to Piazza Carlo III where there is the "Real Hotel di Poveri" the huge charitable building built by the Spanish sovereign munificeries that gave a roof to every poor of the Kingdom of Naples.
The square is huge as are the two elegant residential buildings keep them on the sides of the entrance of the street that leads to the business center of Naples.
After taking a break for a coffee in the majestic Neapolitan square I finally went down Corso Garibaldi. Street with very elegant buildings in neoclassical and neo renaissance style.
My #iamalivechallenge 176 was very long and #alive. Today I discovered unexplored areas and this time I was also amazed by the beauty of Naples. I concluded celebrating my day on the Caracciolo waterfront with 22.5k of steps.
Finally I would like to thank all my friends from the tribe of Alive and all the new friends who happened between the lines of my stories for reading my thoughts and see you at the next actifit report.
