2024 is getting old! I always look forward to the new year for many reasons. It always seems a fresh new start, the days are getting longer, new bulging buds appear on the shrubs and trees. New shoots appear from the soil, heralding new life and all that is to come in the spring. It's a nice outlook, regardless of how cold the weather is. 🥶

There are many signs of life already. I have seen katkins on some small shrubs. I spotted a patch of daffodils blooming in Tilgate Park yesterday. That is very early for these spring flowers.
