My Actifit Report Card: October 8 2024
The most strenuous activity today was a walk into town and into the County Mall shopping centre.
Walking through the old part of the high street, now mostly pedestrian only. Passing an old sculpture of what looks like a giant axe head. I looked for a plaque but couldn't find one. I think it probably represents a time when there was a blacksmiths workshop here, sometime in the nineteenth century.
During the time of stagecoaches and horses, there was a large stable here where horses were changed for fresh ones, and passengers could stop at the George Hotel.
