During the mating season, the swans are looking very defensive with their wings raised in a threatening way. Of course, this is aimed at the other wild birds, while it's mate is sitting on the nest.

They are a lovely sight, looking majestic sailing along.

We are very lucky here in my home town where we have many public lakes.
