Afternoon Run - 6km (busy busy busy)

Description from Strava: It feels like no-stop all day today, I barely have any time to write this to be fair!
First up was a walk to the shops before work to pick up some supplies. My partner was heading back to Carlisle today, and so I popped to the local tesco to pick up some odd bits for her so she didn't need to go food shopping straight after her 4 hour drive. I also picked up snacks, cos well, snacks are super important too!
I was working from home, and so logged on sharp at 9am. We're currently prepping for year end, so lots of stuff to get sorted in time for that. In between sifting through paperwork, I had to faff about with HR/recruitment stuff, but the upsdaide of that means I now have a start date for my new role - 1st of May.
Why they chose a Thursday and not a Monday, I'll never know, but at least I have a date. It may be over 4 weeks away, but I'm sure it will come round soon enough
The rest of the work day trying to get everything cleared, we've been finishing late all week, but tonight was actually only 10 mins later than expected, so that's a plus. Its been a gorgeous day here, sunny and warm, and so I was half tempted to go and mow the lawn, which would have been the first cut of the year
I did hear several mowers earlier this afternoon, everyone else had the same idea i guess!
But I was tight for time, so it became a toss up between mowing or running... and so I went for a run instead (I bet you saw that coming lol)
It was the same route of course, I don't have the inclination to try anything different at the moment, just trying to get the runs done consistently again. That reminds me, I recieved my race number in the post yesterday for the 10k next Sunday, not long now!
The run was another mostly easy affair, and I even broke out the sunglasses in the sunshine. After arriving back home, I had just enough time for tea (Chicken Jalfrezi for the win), and then I phoned Dad for a catch-up, as I hadn't spoke with him all week.
There was apparently loads to talk about, as we were on the phone for over an hour. Then it was time to wash the pots (and then a shower to wash myself), before I could finally sit down and write this
phew...!
The weekend looks set to be even busier. I've got parkrun, shopping, cutting the grass, picking up new glasses, washing AND ironing to do, and thats only Saturday! If I manage to grab any spare time in that, I'll write another post here... but we'll see how that goes!

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)
