Afternoon Run - easy effort to start the week
@dannewton just finished a 6.34km run, that lasted for 39 minutes.
This run helped dannewton burn 537.0 calories.
Description from Strava: After taking it easy for past few weeks, it felt good to get going again. It seems like training has been hit and miss for the past 9 months, with set back followed by injury, followed by setback... the most reacent of which was bruised ribs from 4 weeks ago, which happened after I managed to trip over my own feet on an evening run in the dark.
I did try to keep running, but the ribs were so wore that I wasn't actually able to sleep properly, so it felt a bit daft to keep running. 4 weeks later, they do feel a little sore in places, and if I push in certain areas, but they are much improved.
So once again I find myself 'getting back into it'
I know its not square one, but god damn it feels like it!
Its been so long that I didn't realise how much lighter it has gotten in the evenings. I finished work at 5pm today, and after getting changed, I headed out into brilliant sunshine. Hopefully with daylight, I'd be less likely to trip over!
The run itself was the usual trip out along the bypass and back, and I'm pleased to report, that nothing 'interesting' happened at all :-)
I've got my race - the Lincoln 10km in 3 weeks, and I'm not gonna bother about aiming for a time, I just want to get round and complete it
And in other news, I have a job interview tomorrow. Its still in the same organisation that I currently work, as I'm more than happy to keep working here... I've just been doing this job for 3 1/2 years, and really fancy a change of scene. There are some other reasons why I'm looking for a change, but I don't want to jinx but talking about that now. I'll see what tomorrow brings first!
which reminds me, I should probably carry on with my interview prep this evening, so I can maximise my chances tomorrow!

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)

It's frustrating when you get injured. I had a few weeks off running last time, but am getting back into it. The longer days give more opportunities and I'm not keen on running in the dark.
Good luck with the job.
really is! Have been several set backs over the past few months, and just as I get back on top, it seems something else goes wrong...
Thanks, the interview went as well as I could have hoped, I answered all the questions, and there were now awkward silences or pauses. In the hands of the interviewers now, and hopefully should find out some time this week 🤞

So sorry about the ribs issue. Glad to see you back on the track again after some while away.
