Lunch Run - 6km (50km for the week)

Just a little 6km recovery run today in the sunshine :-)
its a beautiful day out there, but don't let the sunshine fool you, it's still bitterly cold!
It was an easy zone 2 effort to round out the week, and for simplicity's sake, I just headed on a quick 'out and back' route along the bypass. Not much to talk about really, and the aim was was just to help in the recovery from yesterdays effort
More importantly, todays 6km effort takes me to a weekly total of 50km, which I'm really pleased to see. I've been slowly ramping the miles up over the past 3 weeks, and just a little way to go to reach my target of 60km. I need to average that for each week this year if I'm to reach the ultimate distance goal for the year of 3000km. As you can see below, I'm a little short of my target:
Obviously its been a slow, injury hit start to the year, but I'm now in a position to make up the lost time and catch up to where I should be. Besides, we're only in the 1st week of February, so there is still plenty of time to catch up!
For the rest of today I've been mostly putting my feet up and resting, but there's still some odd jobs to do, such as wrapping my Dad's birthday present for next week. Note to self: still need to buy a card!. And then there's the usual stuff like ironing thats needs to be done in preparation to a new work week starting tomorrow.... these weekends just fly past so quick!

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)
