dannewton just finished a 16.95km run, that lasted for 105 minutes.
This run helped dannewton burn 1283.0 calories.

Description from Strava: As a follow up to yesterdays after my 'parkrun' effort (which was called short for a couple of reasons, I am back out to day to make up for the missing mileage, and to finish the weeks training off.

My target for the week is 60+km, and after yesterday I was sitting on 45.8km. I needed to cover at least 14.2km, today... and I already had a route in mind when I woke up this morning - the Branston/Washy loop that I've done several times before. Its a nice little loop round some villages, and there is a proper footpath that goes all the way around, so should be nice and easy too.

Just like yesterday though it was another grey and dreary start. There was no actual rain, but everywhere just felt 'damp'. The weather was meant to brighten up and improve later on, but I have other stuff to do then, so decided I just needed to get out and complete the run.

Joining the bypass

entering the village of Branston

and leaving Branston

Its a nice little route by the way... fairly quiet traffic-wise, varied surroundings which help to keep things interesting, and a mostly smooth path all the way around.

It is also features streetlamps all the the way around, which is a bonus during the winter months!

After Branston, I head towards the smaller village of Washingborough.

this involves a rather steep hill down into the village, although it doesn't look it in that photo above!

b7.jpg

leaving the village, the route takes me under a small railway bridge.

Its very narrow here, hence the traffic lights so that cars from opposite directions have to take it in turns to drive through

And then before I knew it, I was back onto the bypass and heading for home.

The route is just shy of 17km, and it was completed in just over 1 hour 45 minutes, which is reasonable for an easy zone 2 effort.

And the important thing was that I reached my 60km target for the week... so job done in that respect!

Now its time to potter about with some chores (ironing and washing pots mostly...) and then I'll pop round to visit Dad for a quick catch-up

And then before I know it, it will time to head to bed, as I've got an early start for work... these weekends just fly by so quickly!!

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)

Hope your legs are okay after all that. I got soaked this morning, but it wasn't cold and I soon dried off at home. My weekly mileage is more modest.

I feel ok... the effort was mostly low and easy, so hopefully didn't take too much out of me. We'll see how my evening run goes tomorrow haha!
