Evening Run - 7km (easy zone 2,and over 2000km ran this year)
dannewton just finished a 7.81km run, that lasted for 46 minutes.
This run helped dannewton burn 604.0 calories.
Description from Strava: Tight for time again, after spending all day in the office, but still managed to get out for nearly 8km this evening. It was yet another easy zone 2 effort, and as I started it after 8:30 it was mostly run under the cover of darkness.
Really nice out there tonight, cool and dry and only a light breeze, and I really enjoy the solitude of night time running.
The hardest bit was dodging all the moths flying around, with my headtorch on they keep launching themselves into my face!
Other than the unidentified Identified flying objects, the other bit of news was the yearly distance I've ran, clocking up over 2000km:
As a comparison, the furthest distance I've ever run was 1972.3km, which was over the entirety of 2023. We've just tipped over into September, and I've already surpassed my distance from last year, and I've still got almost 4 months still to go.
This is a testament to me not only slowly upping the distance ran each week, but trying hard to be consistent, and to keep showing up and getting the work done each week.
At the start of the year I had a year goal of 3,500km, but I struggled to maintain the distance in the early part of this year due to my mum passing away in March. With the funeral arrangements, and paperwork, and the processing of grief, running took a much required step back.
I've since readjusted my goal to a more realistic and manageable 3,000km and I'm right on track to achieving that.
Tommorow is gonna be another busy day... I'll be working at home, but I'm due to head out for a meal with my partner and my Dad, which means Wednesdays run will have to be squeezed into the early morning before I log into to work
And as my alarm is set for 6:30, I guess the fact that it is approaching midnight here means I really need to go to bed... so, er, Goodnight!

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)

You really clock up the distance and that consistency has to pay off. My total for this year will not be that great, but I've had a few issues with my ageing body. I'll still keep running whilst I can.
