dannewton just finished a 17.14km run, that lasted for 107 minutes.
This run helped dannewton burn 1229.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
After a forgettable run yesterday, today's was much better. That was a relief really as it meant that whatever was up with me yesterday was likely just a one off and not a sign of something worse.

I am off work all week due to holiday, today was the first day, which definitely put me in a good mood. It started this morning with a walk at a local Nature Reserve over at RSPB Frampton Marsh:

It was a very cold morning with highs off 2C with a wind chill factor of -3C. Its gonna be this cold all week, so there was no point in complaining. We both wrapped up really warm with lots of layers and gloves and hats, and we had a lovely morning spent wandering around the reserve in the bright sunshine.

It was a great opportunity to do a spot of Birdwatching, and we managed to see a couple of cool species including Pochard, Redwing and a rarely seen Lesser Yellowlegs

I'm managed to get some awesome images too, so watch out for a 'proper' post on our walk here in the next few days

After a couple of hours, we paused to have a very expensive lunch from the cafe onsite, and then we drove home. And once home I immediately got changed and went out for a run

Hey, just cause I'm on holiday, doesn't mean the training stops!!

The run was mostly the usual Monday fare, with a 17km run up along the bypass and back. I did make a slight detour halfway through as I wanted to check out a potential new route to run.

There is a footbridge which connects to a road which leads to Cherry Willingham (not a made up name I promise!). There are 5 small villages in close proximity to Cherry, so if I could connect to the first one, then that would open up some more villages to run around, and would just mean I could benefit from a change in scene to visit some new locations.

Unfortunately, once I crossed over the bridge to head towards Cherry Willingham, I was disapointed to find that the very thin path that runs alongside the road only goes as far as the village of Greetwell. There appears to be a 1/2 mile stretch of road that has no path, and as it is both very busy and rather narrow, I do not feel safe running on it.

Boo, Hiss, etc...

So I guess my search for a new location continues. In that map above there is a 2nd bridge to Hawthorne road further up the bypass, so I will give that a go next time.

And now with my run completed, and feeling better than yesterday, I'm now taking it easy and starting to sift through the 500 pictures I took earlier today. Hopefully I will be able to get a post on that published tomorrow, so watch this space!

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)

I actually love the way you’re in a good mood
It should be a habit that you should always practice
Keep up the good run!
