Description from Strava:
A shorter post today... due to lack of time once again!
I was working at home as is the norm these days, and after a busy morning it turned in to a long, slow and slightly boring afternoon. The last of 15 minutes I was just killing time, which meant that I was able log off as soon as I could at 4pm.
That early time was useful as I was due to call my partner at 7pm to catch up with all her Uni stuff. Which meant I only had 3 hours to squeeze in a run and some Dinner. That sounds loads of time, but the run alone was scheduled to be for around 2 hours... I'd better get a move on!
The last couple of weeks I've run loops around the housing estate, which is easy, but super boring. Today I decided to head down the A607 to Navenby, and as it is a long straight-ish route I planned to run for an hour, and then turn and run home again.
I was expecting to run somewhere between 16-20km, but that would depend on how fast I would run (and as I'm keeping it in Zone 2, it wasn't gonna be fast!)
I left at 4:15pm, and it was still comfortably light outside. Dry and chilly, I opted to wear a thin running jacket over my t-shirt, and that was deffo the right choice. The route was one I've done often, and passes through a number of small villages.
One by one, I ticked them off... Waddington, Harmston, Coleby...
The above picture was taken after Coleby, still just about light enough to see, but I would be turning my head torch on soon.
Looking over to the side, I could see the sun had already set by this point. I was hoping for a gorgeous sunset, or some beautiful colours in the sky but no. I guess the below was the best I could manage!
I carried on past Boothby Graffoe, and in the distance I could see the signs for Navenby. I checked my watch to see that I was approaching 1 hour, and that I was also about to reach 9km. That's as good a stopping point as any!
At the halfway point I paused to put on the headtorch, and zip my jacket up higher (I was starting to feel a little cool), and I slowly ran the 9km back home. I was able to keep a reasonable pace considering the lower heart rate, and I'm happy with how the run went. More importantly I had arrived back home at 6:15pm, which meant that not only did I have time for some food (sausages and chips) but I managed to grab a quick shower before my video call with Dawn
2 hours and 20 minutes later we finally finished. We do try to keep these short, but it turns out we both enjoy the waffling haha! I have just enough time spare to get ready for work tomorrow, and then I'll be heading straight to bed.
Tomorrow should be an easier day, with just a short 40 minute run after work, and then an evening to
rest and relaxer I mean do some more of my online accountancy course...

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)

That was actually a huge figure of calories released. I admire your running strength also
The calorie burn is a bonus to be honest, I'm mostly focused on improving my performance ( so I can eventually go faster and longer).
You have had so many activities in the past few days
Please, make sure that you take a rest
I'm am resting in between, don't worry :-)
Todays run was only a short 30 minute session, and then I'll be taking a day of on Friday (and then it'll be time for a nice long run on Saturday)
With such beautiful weather and beautiful views, walking is a pleasure in itself and the time seems to pass
