These 3 superstars lead their national teams to huge victories
The action continues 🌟⚽️🏟️🏆
Another day chock-full of exciting matches during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The Saudi Arabians were fresh off the biggest upset in World Cup history. France looked to continue to show its muscle. Argentina desperately needed to remind the world of their skill and keep their chances of advancing alive. That's just the start of the thrills to come.
Before we talk about the most recent matches, I want to remind you that I also wrote about those games previously...
Wales🏴 vs Iran🇮🇷
Qatar🇶🇦 vs Senegal🇸🇳
Netherlands🇳🇱 vs Ecuador🇪🇨
England🏴 vs United States🇺🇸
Here is a link to that one, just click here.
Now it is time to move on to the next matches. There is a lot to discuss here and I'm hyped to go over these results. This is what the World Cup is all about.
Let's recap four more games from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar...
Tunisia🇹🇳 vs Australia🇦🇺
My Prediction: Tunisia
Another even match with either team having a chance to win. Tunisia had quite a few shots that nearly resulted in a goal, but none were successful. Australia was the only team to score when Mitch Duke was able to redirect a deflected cross with his head and guided the ball for a beautiful goal in the 23rd minute. That was the lone goal of the match and it resulted in Australia's first-ever shutout during a World Cup. Tunisia's chances of advancing are now very unlikely since their next match is against a very strong French team. Australia just put itself in a pretty good position to advance and will face Denmark next.
Result: 0-1 in favor of Australia
Poland🇵🇱 vs Saudi Arabia🇸🇦
My Prediction: Poland
After drawing with Mexico in their first match, the Polish were eager to get a win. Their star Robert Lewandowski came into this World Cup is huge expectations and little to no results thus far. Saudi Arabia on the other hand wished to continue to surprise the world with yet another upset win. Poland's Piotr Zieliński scored a great goal when he received a well-placed cross in the 39th minute. Less than 10 minutes later, Saudi Arabia was awarded a very controversial penalty kick. Luckily for Poland, their keeper Wojciech Szczęsny made an insane save, and then the Saudis missed the rebound shot as well. The devastation for their side was felt deeply by everyone at the stadium.

Although Saudi Arabia continued to apply a lot of pressure on the offensive end, they were unable to score a single goal. On top of that in the 82nd minute, Robert Lewandoski was able to secure his first-ever World Cup goal and he was so happy to finally be able to do that. This put the nail in the coffin and the game was over shortly after that second goal.

Poland faces a fierce Argentinian squad next and Saudi Arabia must take on Mexico in their final group stage pairing.
Result: 2-0 in favor of Poland
France🇫🇷 vs Denmark🇩🇰
My Prediction: France
What a match this one was. Denmark did a great job of keeping up with the French for most of the match. Going into the 2nd half, things were still at level pegging. It wasn't until the 61st minute that France's superstar Kylian Mbappé nailed the first goal of the match with an intelligent give-and-go play with Theo Hernández.
https://twitter.com/FOXSoccer/status/1596554904914444288?s=20&t=mkLHWK7w5AWjLK4EXP6wdg
Less than 10 minutes later Denmark even scored once again when Christensen was able to connect with a much-needed goal. Denmark barely had half as many shots as France, but neither was scoring at will. It was Mbappé in the 86th minute that gave France the lead they needed to secure their movement into the knockout stage.

This means France's next match against Tunisia can end in any way and France will still move on and awaits Argentina/Saudi Arabia/Mexico/Poland in their first match of the knockout stage. Denmark on the other hand has a must-win match versus Australia which is fresh off a win.
Result: 2-1 in favor of France
Argentina🇦🇷 vs Mexico🇲🇽
My Prediction: Argentina
The world had a feeling that Messi and Argentina would make a huge comeback after their crucial loss in their opening match against Saudi Arabia. Too bad for Mexico it had to be on their watch. As has often happened in the past, the Mexicans were no match for the Argentinians. The first half was dead even with neither team scoring. It wasn't until the 64th minute that the first goal of the game was drilled into the back of the net by Messi. My goodness was it a great shot. Messi was well outside of the box when he received a cross from his childhood friend Ángel Di María. Messi was given the time to perfectly line up this shot and then skid it across the pitch through the defense and into the lower corner against Mexico's admirable goalie Guillermo Ochoa.

After the first goal, Argentina's spirit was back where it needed to be for the rest of the match. They handled all of the offensive pressure that Mexico applied and even fired back with another goal in the 87th minute. Enzo Fernández came in as a substitute and wasted no time showing his skill. His fancy footwork allowed him to get into a favorable position inside the box. His high-arcing shot was unblockable and went directly for the far upper corner. No matter how good of a keeper Ochoa is, there just isn't much you can do against such perfectly placed shots that Argentina was landing.

Had Argentina lost this match, they would have been eliminated. They instead have a great chance to still come out as the top team in their group. The next match against Poland will be hard fought and a huge game for both teams as Poland currently has 4 points while Argentina only has 3. Saudi Arabia and Mexico both are fighting to stay alive, so that match will be nothing short of exciting as well.
Result: 2-0 in favor of Argentina
Stars are starting to shine 🌟
Getting to watch 3 of the best-attacking playmakers in the world all in one day was such a treat. Lewandowski was finally able to score his first World Cup goal. Mbappé is the youngest of the bunch and is quickly becoming the greatest goal-scorer in French history. Messi's legacy was solidified with an outstanding goal when his country needed him the most. You couldn't have asked for a better day of football.

They really are putting in some good efforts though, may the best win
Lewandowski's tears when scoring his goal says it all. First time he has achieved it so the excitement and could be worth a classification to the next round of the World Cup
He wanted it so badly and I'm happy for him so now he can relax and get into his game more naturally now.
three super important victories for those countries France is already in the Eighth; Poland and Argentina fighting for the tickets maybe one of the two will be the qualifier since Saudi Arabia winning their qualifying game
France could potentially face Argentina in their first knockout match, that would be huge if it happens!
Group C seems the most interestingly poised of all the groups. All 4 teams have a chance to qualify, 3of the 4 teams still can be the group winner. So many permutations at play 😄
You'd think more would have been decided already, but this has been an extremely competitive World Cup. Pretty much every match has been worth watching so far.
Yes,the so called "small" teams have given the "favourites" a real good run for their money. Most of the teams had an urge to show they aren’t here just to fill up the numbers. This World cup has indeed been one of the most competitive ones in recent memory.
I love seeing the smaller teams surprise the world on the biggest stage. I also love seeing two giants collide.
Messi is still one of the best players in the world and that will not change no matter what happens. He scored an incredible goal in the last game. I hope Argentina will continue like this.
Did you see the crazy news that Messi may be signing with Inter Miami in the MLS here in the USA? They're saying he could be there as early as the summer of 2023. I wonder if it will actually happen.
I've seen this news, but I think it can only happen in 2024, not in 2023. Because right now Messi can still play football at the highest level.
Ooh, that makes more sense. I must have gotten mixed up with the years.
No no no, you saw it right. They write that it's gonna happen in 2023 but that's my opinion. I think he should play one more year at somewhere that he can show his class. Then he can go to MLS or sth like that 😅
Wow, the sooner the better for us here in the USA. I'm not sure why he'd make such a huge decision during the World Cup. I'd think he'd want to focus on winning and then negotiate contracts after.
Yeah of course. He'll decide after the season I guess. It doesn't make sense to start thinking about it right now. He will focus to WC for sure.
For me, it's none other than Messi.
It was a do-or-die match for Argentina and they did it. I am a die-hard fan of Argentina and it was really devastating for me to watch their performance in the first half, was losing hope, and the magical Messi saved the team. It was around 2.00 am here and there were screams from surrounding houses, everyone was so thrilled that is beyond describing.
Messi has been great for so long. Never gets old watching him because you know he is capable of so much at any time.
Sounds like we both are happy that Argentina is still alive and will most likely advance.
Brazil secured their next round without Neymar. Now its time for Argentina.
With the way Messi is in form, I will not be surprised to see Argentina been in the final
It is possible, but no easy task to win out from here on.

Yeah you are right. Messi is very great and intelligent player and lead his team very well. But Ronaldo team is my favorite.
I do love me some Portugal. I’m happy they’ve already advanced to the next stage. I hope that Argentina can manage to do the same.
😊😎💪 Messi on the comeback!
Luv the hustle show in this pic. (and it's pretty funny)
MINE!! :P
Messi wasn't going down that easy. I love the hustle of these games too man, so competitive.
