I finally got to wear my Japanese OHTANI jersey for the first time
This guy deserves respect ⚾️✊
I haven't watched baseball in years. Even when I did watch it sometimes in my distant past, it was always one of my least favorite sports. It is just too slow and boring for me and I'd rather watch NBA or UFC.
Even without caring at all about MLB, I still have been unable to ignore the hype surrounding one of the league's best players. I'm talking about Los Angeles Angels' star pitcher from Japan, Shoehei "Showtime" Ohtani.
Pronounced...
Shohei ||| show·hay ↔️ Ohtani ||| ow·taa·nee
This man is unlike any player the game has ever seen before. Most baseball fans would have never believed there would be a pitcher throwing 99 MPH and hitting 46 home runs in a single season. Especially not in the American League with their use of the DH, unlike the National League. Yet here Ohtani is with impressive pitching and batting stats. He won AL Rookie of the Year in 2018 and recently finished winning the AL MVP award in 2021. This guy is a straight-up stud and there is no denying it.
He may be from Japan, but he speaks English and Spanish, although he prefers working with an interpreter since he is most fluent in Japanese. I was a big fan of Ichiro growing up due to his crazy speed. Ohtani is also pretty quick but still has many years ahead to prove that he is the best Japanese baseball player to ever play in the MLB. Ichiro played 19 seasons in the MLB, while Ohtani is yet to begin his 5th season.
The world already believes in Ohtani to be one of the best players in the MLB, especially over in Japan where he has become a superstar. You can even find him on the cover of this years new baseball video game The Show 22.
You may be wondering, if @daltono doesn't like baseball, why is he talking about Shohei Ohtani? The reason being, I have been wanting a baseball jersy to wear casually. There are many cool players in the league, but Ohtani is the only one who has caught my attention from afar, so he was the obvious choice.
Instead of just going with an Angels jersey, I decided to see where he played in Japan. I discovered a gorgeous green Hokkaido Fighters jersey and instantly new it was the one. It is my favorite collor and I like the design a lot. Plus I knew baseball fans would know exactly who it was once they saw the name Ohtani on the back.
If I were to order this jersey from official outlets, it would have cost me well over $100. I instead got the idea to search for a cheaper option on Alibaba and found this https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Wholesale-Mens-Hokkaido-Nippon-Ham-Fighters_1600302484332.html?spm=a2700.galleryofferlist.normal_offer.d_title.2e9d5d2aBubjun for about $20. Saving that kind of money is well worth the added time for the shipment to arrive. It ended up being a Christmas gift from my mom and I am excited to finally get to wear it.
This thing is very well made. It is stitched just like an authentic jersey and very breathable with holes in the material. I honestly don't see why people waste so much money on jerseys with tags when you can get pretty much the exact same thing from a less costly wholesale store. I've been buying jerseys this way for years and they are always better than I expected them to be.
So yea, I am a Shohei Ohtani fan, but I've never even watched the guy play. Just seeing his stats is enough for me to want to support the dude. It still just blows my mind that a pitcher could be dominating the leage on both sides of the plate-like this. I can't wait to see how his numbers get better once he has more time in the MLB.

Hello dear friend @daltono good night
It's good that you found other alternatives and got a good discount, and the best thing is that it was a Christmas present.
enjoy it a lot
This is a sport that I never understood its rules; As an Argentine, I am more of a soccer lover; basketball, boxing, or contact sports
A hug for you, and love for the whole family
You really aren't missing much when it comes to baseball. I prefer soccer and basketball. However, there are still some pretty great athletes in the MLB. Ohtani is for sure one of the bests right now.
Bonazi! He looks a good dude besides his awesome playing abilities.
Great looking jersey. (I like the shoes, too)
He is a good-looking dude. If he keeps up his impressive stats, surely all of the female fans of baseball in America will start wanting a Japanese boyfriend.
The jersey is one of my favorites that I have seen. The shoes are actually a pair of $400 Yeezy's that I won in a Christmas giveaway from Coinflip a few years back. If you want to take a closer look: https://peakd.com/hive-167922/@daltono/yeezy-coinflip
I suppose you can't argue with a $20 shirt and have known others go the same route only for them to shrink and fade fairly quickly. Lets hope yours lasts much longer.
$20 for a regular t-shirt is a bit much, but for a nicely stitched jersey like this one, I consider it a pretty great deal. I've had maybe one basketball jersey ordered from China fade, but it was mostly from overwearing it and washing it so much. Otherwise, things have luckily worked out okay.
You and me both bro. I have seen him on the news and all but never actually watched a game. he seems to be a pretty big deal in the baseball world. Japanese teens love baseball, they train super hard after school. The Jersey I want now is the basketball that of the player Rui Hachimura.
I'm sure he is all over the headlines in Japan, hard to ignore a pitcher hitting HRs.
There are a lot of dope Hachimura jerseys. I'd go with either this Wale/Classic Bullets jersey, this Golden Wizards jersey, or perhaps even this Gonzaga jersey... especially if they end up winning the NCAA tournament this year.
The first two are the same it seems. The golden one looks dope! Not too pricey either. I need to see how much and where it’s selling in Japan, I can imagine it won’t be this reasonable though. But with the shipping logistics, best to get it here.
Oops, I messed up that Wale/Classic link. Just fixed it. I believe that one is just some custom design, but I really like it a lot.
Definitely try to find these for under $30/jersey. I honestly wouldn't pay more than that now that I've found cheap prices like that for so long. The Chinese websites are the way to go. Screw getting it shipped from the USA.
This is all I can find on the website where I got this baseball jersey. https://www.alibaba.com/trade/search?fsb=y&IndexArea=product_en&CatId=&SearchText=Rui+Hachimura&selectedTab=product_en
China really has it all. I really wonder how Biden had the audacity to threaten Xi Jinping when almost everything in stores is made in China. Will def check these out. Thanks man!
Pretty idiotic. I know a girl who came to the USA to live out her dreams and she got stuck working at a Chinese food restaurant for a couple of years and living in a 3 bedroom house with over a dozen people in the same situation. She found no opportunity here and eventually ended up going back to China even though she hated it there. I felt bad for her because she was so freaking nice.
I don't watch much baseball but this intrigues me. Didn't know about Ohtani now I'm curious to compare with Ichiro who I used to watch
Both Ohtani and Ichiro are very talented Japanese players. Both are great for their own reasons. Maybe Ohtani will encourage you to watch some YouTube videos about him at least. I can't see myself sitting through an entire baseball game ever again in my life.
