Sardegna trip 2024 - Day 3

Hey dear actifitters and readers,

Yesterday we had a very active day. I made more than 28k steps

We started the day traditionally with coffee in a bar. The offered many delicious looking tartlets, croissants and other tasty looking stuff.

And we couldn't resist. 😊 There was so many we had to go for three pieces. And we regret it 😉 All the pieces were heavy and sweet.

Our goal for the day was to visit Fortezza Monte Altura. It's a militaty fortress which is inactive since the 70's. It was an abandoned place until 2006. Then the Italien heritage fund gave money to keep this building and restore it.

It has a massive ramp inside to get the canons into their position.

The stairs on the sides have about 170 steps. We had a guide telling us a lot of data about the fortress, the history and the strategic location of northern Sardegna during the last wars in Europe.

On our walk to the fortress we had to cross this wonderful and empty beach. Exactly that's one of the reasons to visit this beautiful island again in October.

The guide told us about St. Rafael. A very small artists village nearby.

We went there an found interesting small houses and an expensive bar.

We decided to walk back to the beach for a drink at the beachbar.

Finally the day ended in a pizzeria with delicious pizza.
