¡Remontada Histórica! en el beisbol cubano

Ya comenzó la Semifinal de la 63 Serie Nacional , pero no se puede empezar sin recordar la épica remontada de los Industriales para colarse en esta fase.

La Serie Nacional llegaba a la etapa que ningún aficionado se quiere perder: Los Play Off.

Al mejor de 7 se enfrentarían los ocho mejores equipos de la 64 Serie Nacional, buscando avanzar a la siguiente ronda.

El choque más interesante, por historia, legado y morbo, era el que enfrentaba a: Los Leones de Industriales y las Avispas de Santiago de Cuba.

El azul contra el rojo, las dos capitales históricas del país, el occidente contra el oriente. Solo uno, podía avanzar.

Aunque ya la calidad de la pelota en Cuba, no es la misma de años atrás, ni los juegos son tan atractivos como antes, eso no importa cuando de un clásico estamos hablando.

Es el Yankee- Boston de la pelota Cubana.

Y no sería diferente, este Clásico quedaría marcado en la historia.

The 64th National Series Semifinals is already started , but first you need to know about the epic comeback of the Industriales to reach this stage.

Los Equipos

Industriales, llegaba en la mitad del pelotón de avanzada.

Un arranque magnífico fue lo que les permitió llegar aquí.

El equipo llegaba a esta fase, sin muchas de sus piezas claves, tanto en el picheo como en la ofensiva.

Muchos de sus jugadores titulares, fueron firmados a mediados de la temporada para lanzar en ligas del Caribe, o en la de Italia.

El Mánager de los azules: Carmona, ya es un lobo viejo en nuestro beisbol, así que una vez más tuvo que arreglárselas para clasificar a su tropa. Y lo logró.

Enfrentarían a su rival histórico con más dudas que nunca.

Santiago, en la misma mitad del pelotón que sus rivales. Con una temporada bastante por encima de la media.

Con la incorporación de Labrada, el equipo tomó un segundo aire y lo vimos sumarse a la avanzada. Su ofensiva terminó con buenos números y en el bullpen mantenían al grupo que los trajo hasta aquí.

Su manager: Cajigal, exlanzador de las Avispas, ha sorteado las dificultades y sobre todo supo guiar a sus lanzadores (cosa muy importante en la realidad de nuestra pelota)

The Teams

The Industriales were in the middle of the pack.

A magnificent start is what allowed them to get here. The team arrived at this stage without many of its key pieces in both pitching and offense.

Many of their regular players were signed in the middle of the season to pitch in Caribbean or Italian leagues.

The Industriales' manager, Carmona, is an old wolf in our baseball, so once again he had to figure out a way to get his team to the playoffs. And he did it.

They would face their historic rival with more doubts than ever.

Santiago, in the same middle of the pack as their rivals. With a fairly above-average season.

With the incorporation of Labrada, the team took a second wind and we saw them join the advance. Their offense ended with good numbers and in the bullpen they kept the group that brought them here.

El Enfrentamiento

Al mejor de siete juegos (el primero que ganase cuatro, avanzaría)

Los enfrentamientos empezaron en la tierra caliente. En el cuartel general de las Avispas.

Industriales, empezó perdiendo los dos juegos. Los capitalinos mostraron un juego desastroso, llegando a cometer hasta 7 errores en un juego.

La defensa no apoyó a sus lanzadores (los mejores de la rotación) y el bateo no podía hacerle frente a lo que produjeron las Avispas.

Santiago no bateó tanto, pero fueron oportunas y aprovecharon cada error que les dio la defensa de los Industriales.

La serie se iría 2-0 a la Capital.

En el Latinoamericano, se repetiría la historia de los dos primeros juegos.

A pesar de que Maykel Taylor lanzó un soberbio juego (solo permitió 2 carreras limpias)

La defensa, no supo apoyar a Taylor y llegaban a 10 errores en solo 3 juegos. Se volvía a repetir la historia, los azules perdían en su casa.

La serie se ponía 3-0, a favor de las Avispas de Santiago (Un triunfo los separaba de la Semifinal)

Desde las redes, los aficionados indignados, pero amantes de su equipo, rogaban por un milagro.

Desde los medios especializados, ya se daba por muerto a los Leones.

Un 3-0, nunca antes, había sido remontado por nadie. Ni las mejores versiones de los Industriales, Vegueros o la Aplanadora Santiaguera, lo habían logrado.

Las probabilidades y la historia, no estaban de parte de los Leones.

Desde el equipo, todos seguían creyendo (la verdad es que podían competirle a Santiago, solo si la defensa respondía)

El tercer juego tuvo que reprogramarse por lluvia.

Esto le daba un segundo aire a los Industriales, que lograron ganar el tercer juego con cierta autoridad.

El cuarto juego lo ganaban en de manera agónica.

Volvía la esperanza, volvía a despertar la capital. La serie se ponía 3-2.

Industriales, volvía a ilusionar, habían mostrado que podían competirle a Santiago y lo imposible, solo parecía costar un poco más.

El único detalles: la serie volvía al cuartel de las Avispas. Lejos de casa, con toda la afición en contra, en el estadio donde no mostraron su mejor versión y con los rivales a una victoria de pasar a la siguiente fase.

Desde el equipo, mantenían el optimismo. ¡Si se puede!

El sexto juego se iría a extra-inning.

Los nervios de todos, estaban a flor de piel, aficionados, no aficionados, expertos y hasta los rivales de estos equipos, pendiente de lo que podía suceder.

Industriales se llevaba el extrainning y empata la serie a 3. Locura total en La Capital. ¡La manada había resurgido!

Estaban a una victoria de lograr lo que NADIE había logrado.

The Matchup

Best-of-seven games (the first to win four would advance)

The confrontations began in the hot land. In the headquarters of the Wasps.

The Industriales started by losing the first two games. The capital city team showed a disastrous game, committing up to 7 errors in one game.

The defense did not support their pitchers (the best in the rotation) and the batting could not face what the Wasps produced.

Santiago did not hit as much, but they were opportune and took advantage of every error the Industriales' defense gave them.

The series would go 2-0 to the capital.

At the Latinoamericano stadium, the story of the first two games would repeat itself.

Although Maykel Taylor pitched a superb game (only allowed 2 earned runs)

The defense could not support Taylor and they reached 10 errors in just 3 games. The story was repeating itself, the blues were losing at home.

The series stood at 3-0, in favor of the Santiago Wasps (One win separated them from the Semifinals)

From the networks, the indignant but devoted fans of their team begged for a miracle.

From the specialized media, the Lions were already considered dead.

A 3-0 lead had never been overcome by anyone before. Not even the best versions of the Industriales, Vegueros or the Santiago Steamroller had achieved it.

The odds and history were not on the Lions' side.

From the team, they all kept believing (the truth is that they could compete with Santiago, only if the defense responded)

The third game had to be rescheduled due to rain.

This gave the Industriales a second wind, and they managed to win the third game with some authority.

They won the fourth game in an agonizing way.

Hope returned, the capital was awakened again. The series stood at 3-2.

The Industriales were dreaming again, they had shown that they could compete with Santiago and the impossible, it just seemed to cost a little more.

The only detail: the series was returning to the Wasps' headquarters. Away from home, with all the fans against them, in the stadium where they did not show their best version and with the rivals one win away from advancing to the next round.

From the team, they maintained optimism. Yes, it can be done!

The sixth game went into extra innings.

The nerves of everyone were on edge, fans, non-fans, experts and even the rivals of these teams, watching what could happen.

The Industriales took the extra innings and tied the series at 3. Total madness in the Capital. The pack had resurfaced!

They were one win away from achieving what NO ONE had achieved.

El Séptimo Juego.

Los Industriales habían cumplido, lograr empatarle al rival histórico y llegar al séptimo juego, era algo que pocos habían firmado.

Santiago, por su parte, estaba en deuda con su afición y con ellos mismo.

Habían visto como una serie que tenían a favor, se las habían empatado, sin poder hacer nada.

El juego siete empezaba y las Avispas, se pusieron arriba rápido. Industriales fue descontando poco a poco, hasta poner el marcador a su favor: 4-2.

En la lomita, volvía a estar Maykel Taylor, que llegó a lanzar 120 lanzamientos (el máximo permitido)

Tanto era la confianza y el respeto en este muchacho que, hasta la octava entrada, no calentó ningún lanzador de la capital.

De haber podido seguir, estoy seguro de que el muchacho hubiese seguido.

Por desgracia, el abridor de las Avispas, tuvo que ser retirado del estadio por una conmoción facial.

Las autoridades informaron que se encuentra fuera de peligro y podrá reincorporarse al equipo para la Liga Elite.

En un final de rompe corazones, donde los relevistas de Industriales, eran incapaz de sacar un out y llenaban las bases. Donde parecía que nos íbamos nuevamente a extrainning, apareció el control.

José Pérez, cerraría el juego, para la capital y mantendría la ventaja. Los Industriales lograban así, lo impensable, hacían historia.

¡Remontaron una serie que perdían 3-0!

Seventh Game

The Industriales had fulfilled, to tie their historic rival and reach the seventh game, was something that few had signed.

Santiago, on the other hand, was in debt with their fans and with themselves.

They had seen how a series they had in their favor had been tied, without being able to do anything.

Game seven started and the Wasps took the lead quickly. The Industriales gradually caught up until they took the lead 4-2.

On the mound, Maykel Taylor returned, who reached 120 pitches (the maximum allowed)

El próximo rival de los Industriales, serán los Vegueros de Pinar del Río, favoritos para llevarse la corona.

Pase lo que pase, es un orgullo ser fanático de los Industriales. La capital no olvidará lo que lograron estos muchachos, en los que poco confiaban.

El enfrentamiento con los Vegueros, es otro clásico (el Clásico Occidental), sin dudas será una bonita serie, los que amamos este deporte la disfrutaremos con seguridad.

Como he dicho en post anteriores, ser seguidor de los Industriales, da más disgustos que alegría, pero cuando nos dan las alegrías, hombre que eso no se olvida.

Historia pura, este equipo. Un equipo que con facilidad, puede ser el de menor calidad de toda la historia de la capital, logró remontarle a sus rivales.

Literalmente, vinieron de abajo y se hicieron un hueco en la semifinal.

Lo mejor es que volveremos a ver el Clásico, en la venidera Liga Élite, a donde están clasificados ya: Leones, Avispas, Vegueros, Cocodrilos y Leñadores .

The next rival of the Industriales will be the Vegueros de Pinar del Río, favorites to win the crown.
