I think I like Ghana

I didn't know Ghana gained its independence in March until I came across the weekly prompt in the Hiveghana community, which requires us to write sweet things about the nation of Ghana.

I'm a Nigerian, a very core and patriotic one, and when it comes to Africa settings, the next country that comes to mind after my nation is Ghana, and there are a lot of things that have contributed to that, which I'm going to openly say below:

The Nigeria vs. Ghana banter is always real, and that's the fun; that's the love.

Physically, I haven't been to Ghana, but I've been there in spirit and in thoughts due to what I've heard about it.
Anytime these people want to throw shades at us (Nigeria), one major hit they use is their 24/7 electricity, and it makes me wonder a lot how sweet living in the country would be for me, unlike my nation, where a major part of my country gets electricity at the mercy of the people in charge. If there's one thing that wants to make me go and live in Ghana, it's the constant electricity...I would have light to do my numerous tasks, and most importantly, my gadget batteries wouldn't run out for one day.

Let me tell you, I used to think it's a make-up story for the constant electricity in Ghana, but I once met a friend who was there, and the first question I asked was about the electricity, and she confirmed it's true.

I'm a big fan of African style of music, and I'm totally freaked out by some Ghanaian music artists. At first, because of the way these people were crafty, I concluded they were Nigerians, but when I did a search, I found out they are real Ghanaians, and their style got me to add Ghanaians to my list of African artists.

Hey, I'm very different when it comes to music, and it may surprise you that the artists on my list are not your number one top-rated Ghanaian artists.
I love the likes of the old Sakordi, R2Bees, and the modern Gyakie. Yes, these are the people I love so much in the Ghanaian music industry who want to make me keep listening and vibing for them.

The same thing goes for movies. Although I no longer watch local movies, back then, I watched a lot of Ghanaian movies and fell in love with them. Movies like 'Beyonce', 'Love Birds', etc. I bet any Ghanian reading this knows about these movies 🤣

Should we talk about football?
I don't want to throw shade because I know Nigerians are actually better. Did I just throw shades? Lol😅

No lies, whenever it's time for any big tournament like the FIFA World Cup, the next nation I support after Nigeria is Ghana.
During the last FIFA World Cup, Ghana gave us a good masterclass in football, even though they didn't progress to the round of 16. That was the season I got to see the classicness of their current main man, Kudus.

Should I go further because I feel like shaking tables?
Another thing about Ghanaian football that makes it more fun is that matches between Nigeria and Ghana are always the biggest rival matches in Africa. It's not only played on the field; in fact, it's played on Twitter before, during, and after the match. When my nation was knocked out of qualifying for the 2022 World Cup, Ghanaians bought the world's social media space to themselves to shade hell out of us.

Also, aside from all these, they are not technically good in the field, especially when it comes to Africa tournaments, and the banter towards them is also on a premium level.
Thank God for such a nation called Ghana.
