The Grand Hive Pizza Chess Tournament Series 1

Hello and welcome everyone, today I wish to inform you about a chess tournament series I and hive.pizza will be hosting. There will be numerous prizes for the winners (pizza, and some new tasty NFTs) and it also is an opportunity to practice your chess skills and get a few laughs along the way. Everyone is welcome to participate.

How to Sign Up

To sign up you merely have to enter the hive.pizza discord via this link. This will peg you as "interested" in this event. Checkin is an hour before the event in the # pizza-chess channel. Already a part of the server? Merely hit "interested" under "Bi-Weekly Chess Tournaments" in the events section at the top of the discord. Brackets will be created 2 days before the event so finish sign up before then. No shows forfeit.

Prizes, Tokens, Goodies, Oh my!

The prizes will adjust to match player participation, what does this mean? The more of you play the bigger the prizes in the next tournaments this season. The starting prize will be a pile of 150 pizza tokens, and a mysterious Pizza Chess Champion NFT that will qualify you for entry into the grand tournament at the end of the season. Only 1 Pizza Chess Champion NFT per account, so if you enter 2 tournaments and win both you will only earn 1 Pizza Chess Champion NFT qualifying you for entry into the Grandmaster Tournament at the end of the season.

Pizza Chess Promo Bounties: Wanted Dead or Alive

Additionally there will be bounties associated with challenging and defeating certain pizza members playing in the discord including myself until the day of this first event. Bounties will be maintained and updated in discord and vary from starbits, to hive, to pizza, and more! Currently my own bounty is set at 1 hive. Will one of you claim it?

When, Where, and How?

This tournament series will be hosted in the hive.pizza discord here and the first will occur at 4 pm EST on the 5th of December. Thereafter the tournaments will be every other weekend at the same time until the Grandmaster Pizza Chess Tournament at the end of the season. Check-in starts an hour before the tournament and will consist of challenges sent through the chess engine here. The final grandmaster tournament at the end of the season will be broadcasted LIVE!
