UEFA Gives Away EURO Football Tournament Profits

It is actually quite fascinating when you start digging into the finances around this tournament because you would think this would be considered a big pay day for UEFA. The fact is UEFA do no benefit at all and the countries that are participating are the ones benefitting along with the others who did not even qualify.

The total prize money for this years Euro 2024 championship is €331m with the maximum earnings possible of €28.25m for a team winning every match. The total revenue UEFA is expected to generate is €1.2 billion. You would automatically expect UEFA to be pocketing the rest, but that is so far from the truth.

Every club that has a player representing their national team receives a share of the €240 million set aside calculated on the number of games each player plays. The players themselves are paid by their own Football Federation and in England's case the players earn €2K per match which is donated to charity. I have no clue what the other countries do as those players are possibly not earning huge weekly salaries like those in the Premiership.

Roughly 65% of all the Euro 2024 revenue will be reinvested into football projects in each of the 55 European Football Federations. This is called the UEFA Hat Trick Program which covers everything revolving around football.

National stadiums, training facilities, referee training, women's football, club licensing, coaching, academy's and other things like anti match fixing.

The reality is UEFA makes so much money during the year with an estimated $4.5 billion in revenue from their domestic European club cups such as the Champions League. The EURO's happens every four years similarly to the World Cup and this is why they funnel the profits back into the growing and improving the game.

For those of you that do not know is that UEFA earns far more than FIFA and is based solely on having competitions earning revenue every year compared to FIFA every four years. FIFA may be able to charge more for television rights because it is a global event and not a regional event, but even still they don't even come close to what UEFA is able to generate over that 4 year time frame.

Not everything is as you would have thought it to be with the prize money being so low in comparison to other competitions. No one is going to complain though as the money is shared amongst the 55 European Football Federations anyway. This helps keep football growing in the various countries in Europe making sure the game is healthy guaranteeing UEFA a future.

Very very impressive how UEFA prioritizes reinvesting Euro profits into football across Europe. I think it shows their commitment to nurturing the sport from grassroots to national levels. This will no doubt ensure a sustainable future for European football. Very excited about this bro 👍👌👌 !WINE

The participation fee in value of 9.25M Euro is given to all the countries that got to the EURO 2024?

Correct. This is nothing though as they each receive far more and this is like a small bonus.
