The Boot On The Other Foot
Max Verstappen turned left whilst in the breaking zone going into a right hand corner that resulted in the two cars coming together. There is no argument for who is at fault as it was clearly Verstappen in the wrong.
Today during the Austrian Grand Prix we saw Max Verstappen and Lando Norris crash whilst jostling for the lead. The blame was laid entirely at Max Verstappen's door and rightly so. This has and should have been called out many years ago for his driving style being too aggressive and points deductions should have been imposed every time he did this. How else is he going to learn if he just gets away with this each time. Verstappen was given a 10 second penalty, but how is that fair when the other car you crashed imto is now out of the race?
This could have been avoided if Verstappen had been wared from moving under braking on two earlier instances in the race. The crash was the third instance.
The McLaren team principal Andrea Stella summed up this incident by blaming the FIA for not addressing how Verstappen drives. This type of driving when he moves in the braking zone is not only illegal, but also dangerous. Today what he did is nothing unusual and has done it at least 4 times previously and has got away with it on each occasion.
The lack of regulating by the FIA has got us to this point and finally the stewards blamed Max for the entire incident which had to happen. Christian Horner and Verstappen were talking over the two way comms in the car after the incident and they blamed Lando Norris for driving irresponsibly.
Verstappen has always driven aggressively and now that their car is not the fastest around he is calling out other cars for doing what he did previously for years. Dive bombing overtaking in the corners was his specialty and other drivers pulled out because they did not want to crash. Verstappen does not want to pull out these days with his car not being the quickest on the circuit and why we will see far more crashes with Verstappen going forward.
The very same corner where he crashed with Norris today he had an incident with LeClerc in a Ferrari except that incident was a dive bomb move and not a clear movement in the braking zone. Today Max whilst breaking turned left whilst going into a right hand corner which caused not only his car to receive a puncture, but to ruin Norris's race entirely due to the damage sustained.
Everyone can see who is at fault as when the drivers were in the cool down room after the race they saw the incident and chuckled because they all know Verstappen's driving style. In the past other drivers just gave into him with the FIA stewards calling it a racing incident which we all knew was a lie. There is a difference between hard and unfair racing and Verstappen is more on the latter.

My goodness, bro's driving really cost him this time. I think it’s high time the FIA takes stricter action. Lando Norris deserved better I think.
