Sportstalk Curation Showcase
Hell and welcome to another edition of the sportstalksocial curation show case where posts are highlighted from the last 5 days. All the posts are live meaning they all fall within the 7 day curation window. The idea is to bring new authors into the spotlight along with established users in the sports tribe. A vote is not necessary as a follow would be fantastic if you find something you enjoy. Adding authors that interest us to out feed is what Hive is all about and this is a prime opportunity to do just that.
Monday Sports Talk Social Quiz #3 - Win 50k SPORTS + 500k SPORTS delegation
@talesfrmthecrypt with his Monday sports quiz has got the sports tribe on their toes scratching their heads. This is not easy as there is so much time researching these types of questions. I think this has been a huge success as it has increased the community involvement. 51 comments and replies is huge for the overall stats of the tribe. Pencil in Monday afternoons as it seems many are waiting for the post to hit. There is still one question live so have a look and you never know your luck. If you aren't in it you can't win it.
@vjap55 is a new user to the sports tribe and already is adding value with his chess posts. Chess is not for everyone but the fundamentals are the same as other sports besides the fitness elements lol. Preparation and practice are still a major part of the game along with never under estimating your opponent. How many times have we seen various sporting teams raise their game for a one off cup match resulting in a shock victory. Enjoyed the post and I am no chess fan in general.
So when did we start playing sport and why?
@ablaze makes the list again and no we aren't related lol. His posts I find entertaining and always interesting along with easy to read which is important. I enjoyed the bit about the no popping down to the shop to fetch a Twix and a can of Coke when you have to hunt for your own food. I think @edprovat may have been right and this was a subconscious effort to talk about Hurling again.
@edprivat this week changes things up by talking up everything happening in the world of MMA and UFC. I like the idea of having a one stop shop post for the sport as keeping up to what is happening is fairly difficult. We always tend to miss things and this now covers that. I think I am just waiting for one of the Paul brothers to be seriously hurt and it has to happen sooner or later. Whether it is pensioner Tyson or another MMA /UFC fighter I am not fussy as long as it happens.
The 8 Best Fan Bases in English Football (Part 2)
@wolfgangsport has become the top dog on sports in relatively a short period of time and is well deserved. The topics he writes on sets him apart from many and hope others are taking note. This week was a 2 part post discussing the fan bases in English Football. Many would be surprised to see Newcastle in at number 2 but their fan base is proper. I think I read somewhere that they could fill their stadium 3 x over with local supporters. If you were a business looking to buy a club this would have been the one. One just has to think their support has never waned no matter how badly they have performed. They are the giant club in the North and expect they are only a few years away from challenging for titles.
Mason Greenwood - Another Unfulfilled Talent?
This week @olawalium talks about what everyone has been talking about and that is Mason Greenwood. How quickly someone can fall from grace from their actions off the field and this could be having other ramifications for United once this goes to trial. How long has this been going on for and what did the club do about this and how much they knew and could become very interesting. @olawalium reminds us of another player in Evans who transgressed and struggled to find an employer afterwards. Time doesn't make the crime committed disappear even if you served time as people do not care about you. Forgiveness is not something that will happen and clubs will not be interested no matter how good you once were or still are. These are career ending crimes and rightly so.
I'm riding 1000km to Bangkok. Part 3
The last post featured this week is by @jobiker who is also a newbie to the sports tribe. The post is on day 6 so a follow would be great showing him our support. Anyone who is riding 1000km in the humidity of Thailand has to be a little crazy which makes them fit right in with the sorts tribe. This series is fascinating and definitely worth following along for the ride.
If I missed adding you in this week I can only appologise as there are literally so many posts making the cut each week. The sports tribe is in a good place these days and long may it continue. Originality is what wins at the end of the day so if you are new and would like to be featured then that is the secret.
Until next Wednesday have a great week and keep writing and engaging with other members in the community.
@cryptoandcoffee thanks for your kind words 🙏🏽 it's amazing seeing the growth of the community and its really beginning to buzz
You deserve it so no thanks required. Enjoying seeing how the community is developing each week and can't wait for our first 10 000 user join at some point. Maybe a year off still, but who knows as things can change quickly.
I love anything @edprivat does!
I also love @wolfgangsport posts, he does really well with writing sports and also giving us informations. He does his post in series too which is quite informative. He is also diverse in sports.
