Sportstalk Curation Showcase

Hello and welcome to what must be my favorite post of the week looking back at some gems from the sporting community. All these posts are live meaning they fall within the 7 day window for curation. I tend to try and stick to a rule of no posts older than 5 days. Most of these posts have decent rewards already so a follow would be more of a reward than just voting.

Hamilton Vs Verstappen: Hollywood ending in Abu Dhabi

Hollywood ending is an understatement with @pappyelblanco previewing the final Formula One race of the season. I am still in shock what the world witnessed as on a cheating scale of 1-10 this has to be an 11. The repercussions are huge and even today Mercedes never arrives for the preliminary show for tomorrow nights FIA Award ceremony. Only now are drivers and teams questioning what went down as this is not right and should not be allowed to stand. I feel sorry for Max and Lewis as who wants the title after this. Bernie Ecclestone summed it up stating he is happy as Hamilton hasn't won and beaten Michael Schumacher's record. Was this the real reason all along for what went down? Protecting someone's legacy who retired from the sport is unacceptable if this is the case. Records are made to be broken.

Agonisingly close to a hole in one 👀⛳

@ablaze talks about something every golfers dream about and that is a hole in one. A miss is as good as a mile though so this is close, but no cigar. Golfers funny enough can take out insurance just in case this happens as it is a costly event. Buying drinks for everyone in the club house can be an expensive affair and I expect Ireland is no exception. I knew someone who vanished when he scored a hole in one as he was Scottish and tighter than tight. People heard about it and were arriving in their droves to get a free drink from him and he was nowhere to be seen.

It will happen @ablaze when you least expect it so stop thinking about it. I had a shot in a tournament that I hit in the teeth and it travelled literally 5 m above the grass the entire way to the pin and plugged less than 5cm from the hole. Embarrassing as we were not supposed to win any awards as we were sponsoring the event so closest to pin was mine, but forfeited the prize.

The 5 Biggest Rivalries in MLB History

I enjoy @wolfgagsport's posts as he covers sports I don't really follow closely. Baseball is not somehting we have on out tv channels so I never get to follow the MLB. In this post he talks about the rivalries between certain teams which makes the sport more interesting. In every sport teams have certain rivals they have to beat as losing to those teams is not an option. Normally it is another team based out of your home town so Chicago Cubs vs Red Sox both from Chicago makes perfect sense as it splits the support in that particular city. Think of Manchester City vs Manchester United or Tottenham vs Arsenal both being in North London.

Making Progress with Bouldering

@minismallholding talks about the art of bouldering which I have never seen before. I knew about it but there is nothing around here like this. The first thing I noticed was no helmets and no safety harnesses which every activity these days is over protective with health and safety. This is not a normal sporting post which is what makes it better as this is @minismallholding doing her activity sport. Lets hope we see more as she progresses up the levels.

This week it was great to see not just the normal users and adding some new ones highlighting their efforts. The sports tribe is definitely growing week after week and can't wait to see what is coming next week.

Thanks to everyone in the community for making this post so special and keep up the good work. Until next week make it a good one.

Thanks for the mention.

One of the things I like about bouldering over lead climbing is not having to mess around with the harnesses and ropes. They can get in the way and when you've got a strong belayer you can get pulled up the wall with a wedgie. It's not the most comfortable experience.

Thank you very much for the mention @cryptoandcoffee.

The End of this championship indeed showed us that there are many grey areas in the sport that needs fixing.
