Yes getting crunch can make you change your game as you ae concerned about the impending impact. I am sure I would have enjoyed American Football as I enjoyed the contact ,but blind siding someone is a cheap shot. I used to always get a thrill out of someone who was trying to hurt me and they would hurt themselves in the process and I would come out unscathed. I broke my ribs and had no idea is how focused you become and I have like 3 breasts now with one being the broken ribs ad the lump is the scar tissue.

blind siding used to be considered one of the most awesome things you could do in this sport but when we are talking about 220-300 lb guys doing this at max speed we are talking serious injury for the person getting hit as well as the person doing the hitting. While there are a lot of rule changes that I don't care for in the sport over the years, I am glad that they did away with this one. The pros in particular are getting life-long problems because of it.
Sounds like rugby as this is full on contact that is hard on the body and when you are not expecting the hit your body is unprotected.
