OCD Sportstalk Incubation Curation Update

Hello everyone and welcome to another Sportstalk OCD Curation update where we look back at how the tribe faired over the last seven days. This OCD Curation support is all about growing the tribe through supporting quality original posts and engagement. Without further a do lets take a look at the figures to see how the tribe has faired.

Subscribers are up by 42 (3201 and now 3243) which is decent growth even though interactions have dropped again this week whilst having more active users. Pending rewards are down by 20% which is crazy considering Hive has increased in value this week highlighting the quality of the posts.

What doesn't make sense to myself is I am looking for quality content to vote and still struggling as very little is on offer. There are a handful of authors constantly earning as they deserve this for the content they produce as it is original and interesting.

Original content is not a news article that you have spun as sports people read the online tabloids and know what is happening. I personally ignore these posts as I have read the original article already. I would stab at a guess 20% of the sportstalk tribes feed is stale content with low effort and could be classed as spam. Spam is a post that offers nothing of value and is just posted with no personal input or thoughts.

At one stage we could submit close to 30 posts for extra curation and now to give you an idea this week there were only 13 posts submitted. We have to maintain the standards and cannot just submit because you posted. Effort has to be seen at the very least and that is not clear and obvious with many of the posts.

If you are new to the tribe we are here to support you through providing extra curation where it is justified. Submit a decent post that is original meaning your own words along with your own thoughts and views and that is it. Make sure you have sourced your images correctly and provided a source (no Getty) and this is not difficult.

Another crucial part of receiving support is by engaging with others on Hive by commenting and replying on posts. This not only shows you are getting involved but also helping yourself by growing your support through being social. The reason why interactions are down is many users only reply if someone comments on their posts and never on someone else's. This is all looked at before rewarding extra curation and why many users on Sportstalk and Hive will not grow.

There is a feeling of entitlement by many in the tribe by the way they conduct themselves and will be in for a rude awakening when the tribe grows as they will have wasted their time on here. Sportstalk and Hive is not difficult to earn rewards if you stay busy as you will be noticed. Staying busy and consistent is the secret to growing on Hive and we have a core group on Sportstalk who do just that and was hoping others would pick up on this.

If you are new to Sportstalk and are struggling to post and comment due to alack of Resource Credits please leave a comment and we will help you. The one point to qualify for this delegation is that you must be powering up what you are earning.

Once again I would like to thank OCD for their continued support as this is really appreciated by the community. If you have some spare Hive and are looking to delegate please consider @ocdb. For your generosity you will receive a daily payout helping the @ocd curation project. Until next Saturday have a great week and stay busy.

Interesting what is mentioned about original content, I will try to do my best within this community to be able to provide a lot of value. They have already let me know how important this interaction is within the platform and it is also a section that I will try to improve a lot by going through several publications a day.

Original content and engagement is the key for receiving support and I am happy you see that.

Engagement is key to growth here. You keep stressing it and I just hope that instead of some persons feeling entitled, they rather contribute to the community via engaging, and in turn, account growth will be visible.

I think we have to all keep stressing this as so many don't do this and is really frustrating as some of the posts are decent and would be rewarded.

I believe with time, some persons will know better and then learn to engage.

If anybody wants writing tips, tricks or just some motivational help, reach out to me. The more you write, the more neural connections are formed in your brain. Fact!

This is very true and hopefully you can knock some sense into others who have no clue.

Hi @cryptoandcoffee
I would like to use this opportunity to ask for feedback :)

I am relatively new to this group and I already received some feedback about a week ago from you. I was wondering if I am on the right track or in which regard I would have to improve further?

I think that I am staying engaged and I am also posting articles with my own words and thougts. If you would disagree I would love to improve on my articles :)

It would be insensitive to have any feeling of entitlement for this amazing tribe. It's all about the quality and as you have rightly said sir, not spunning news we have already read in the news. I like the growth we have been recording daily and most people would be left behind when the tribe keeps growing. I enjoy sharing my personal views. Thank you for your support so far sir. I wish us more growth.

If for anything, I learnt the importance of engagement and quality in this community. It's not just about making a post but making a quality post that we would also love to read. Rubbing minds with each other helps too because we all know in parts. This community is a learning ground for me. Happy new month, sir. Thank you.

The issue of engagement and image sourcing seems to be one hell of a problem and sometimes I really wonder why because I don't think these are really happening at large out of ignorance or shall we call it laziness?

I've seen some posts lately too and I ask myself - is this person actually looking out to earn with this? Sometimes it's not really easy to make a writeup and many time I force myself to make one but then, I think its just better not to write at all than to spam.

Cryptoandcoffee, thank you so much for all you do, your acts an contributions has indeed kept many of us here actively interested in the tribe.

Have to apologise to all the crew here - I have been away from the keyboard and pretty slack on interaction and engagement recently. Next week will be a concerted effort!
