Crypto And The Super Bowl

A big night for sport and a bigger night for crypto as crypto ads are rumored to dominate the proceedings. So much so it has been dubbed crypto bowl so surely times are changing as crypto is dominating the sports space currently. It will be interesting to see how many exchanges are going to be on show as it is an event you cannot afford not to be involved.

The NFL has a no crypto policy for the teams involved yet players can have personal sponsorships. What is obvious is they are interested as there is so much money involved and would like to control this space themselves. One can't really argue with this as you just have to look at the television rights/broadcasting deal in place. Imagine if crypto sponsorships entered the NFL how much would they be charging?

Money makes the world go round and that is certainly the case with the television rights paid for hosting the various matches. Over a 10 year deal the broadcasters have to cough up a combined $110 Billion or $11 Billion per year. Compare that to the English Premier League who earn roughly $5 Billion per 3 year deal or $1.6 Billion per year. They are pocket change even though they are doing well compared to other Football leagues around the world.

I must admit before I did some research on this topic I had no idea how big the numbers were. I knew they were large as the NFL is a marketing machine plus the audiences involved are massive. This is why the NFL is taking things slowly compared to other sporting bodies. They can make far more than just accepting the first deal that comes across the table plus they will most likely launch their own coin. We have seen how sports teams have fan tokens so why can't the NFL do the same which they surely must do.

Over the last year we have seen crypto sponsorship deals popping up in most sports via shirt/uniform and advertising space around stadiums and circuits. Being excluded from the NFL gives them a prime time opportunity during the Super Bowl buying up advertising space.

According to the time allotted there will be 40 adverts which one would expect a high percentage of crypto exchanges to be fighting for their slots. A 30 second slot will set you back $6.5 million up from $5.5 million last year. The NBC is the broadcaster this year on the roster as the 10 year deal means broadcasters rotate the show piece event. NBC is set to earn over $250 million this evening just on adverts alone.

With the NFL enforcing a no crypto team sponsorship this means the star players have benefitted scooping up mega deals being the face of crypto for the sport. Don't be shocked to see the likes of FTX and Crypto.com to go big tonight especially after FTX dropped $700 Million renaming the Staples Center. This is prime time and the opportunity to sign up new clients will be too tempting. $6.5 million is nothing in comparison to what these companies are making so expect a number of different crypto ads this evening.

This is awesome and a way of promoting crypto to the world which means it is gradually making impact and progress to change the world positively

Sports are a reflection of culture. When the Internet started to emerge, it was advertising on sports that really told us that things were going mainstream.

It is the same with crypto. The fact that we are seeing crypto sponsorship and ads is very telling.

This is actually a very good point and so true. Crypto is everywhere these days and the NFL will join in as they know how much money is involved.

Yeah that is one thing we can count on. The greed factor will take over. They do not want to be left out.

Plus it is terrific promotion for what we are doing. The mainstream will get exposure and some names, like Coinbase, will become household names.

Lol, I've seen quite a few posts about this topic. Unfortunately (fortunately for me) I don't follow super bowl.

Pretty much the only reason why I am bothering to watch is this year is because I'm curious on the super bowl ads. Most likely will make for a good article tonight or tomorrow lol
