Dallas Cowboys trading tight end Peyton Hendershot to Kansas City Chiefs

The Dallas Cowboys are moving on from Peyton Hendershot.

After reports emerged Tuesday that the tight end was likely going to be waived rather than make the team’s 53-man roster, Dallas instead decided to trade him ahead of the 3:00 p.m. roster cut-down deadline to Kansas City, according to The Dallas Morning News’ Calvin Watkins. The Cowboys will receive a conditional seventh-round draft pick for Hendershot, rather than leave him available for a team to potentially claim for free had he been waived.
