Thursday Conference League Previews

These are previews from matches involving Belgian Teams with all the latest on team news, player form, and injuries along with my personal betting angles, ...

The conference league only has 6 matches and tonight is the final match of the League Phase with 2 Belgian teams who are competing.

Cercle Brugge vs Basaksehir

Cercle Brugge (59M) has been thriving in the Conference league where they currently are in 7th place. This puts them sure in a spot where they go to the 1/16th finals and with 8 teams below that who would overtake them with a win, they have nothing to lose and just need to go for the 3 points. In the League they so far struggled and are in 2nd last place but there have been signs of improvement. They did lose their best striker Denkey who played his last game. Basaksehir (48M) is in 24th spot and only a win will do unless none of the 9 teams below them get a win. They did not lose in their last 2 Conference League matches with a 3-1 win at home against Heidenheim, and a 2-2 draw away against Copenhagen. The main difference between the teams is that Basaksehir has no choice while Cercle kind of has room for a loss and their coach stated that he will bring a team with who he thinks they can win. So potentially there will be some rotation. The odds on Basaksehir already dropped and I should have taken them sooner. I reduced my stake to just 0.1 unit on Basaksehir Win @ 3.030. In theory it's a match where both teams only can be happy with a win and I don't think they will just lay back at the start aiming for a late lead. Time will be a key factor and getting behind early isn't as bad as getting behind late as 2 goals are needed to get back. I also took 0.15 units on Over 2.75 @ 1.981 & 0.05 units on Basaksehir Team Total Over 1.25 @ 2.03 all with an eye to possibly increase the stakes in-game.

Larne vs AA Gent

Larne (12M) is dead last with 0 wins and a 2-12 goal saldo, those 2 scored goals came at home and they have nothing really to play for aside from some honor. AA Gent (77M) is in 13th place and are sure of the 1/16th final with a small chance to still get a top 8 spot if they win with a big enough score depending on what other teams do. Larna plays defensively in block and lures on the counter while the pitch is supposed to be really bad. So it's hard to the team who makes the play and also increases the chance of injuries. The only bet that kind of tempts me is AA Gent to win & Both to score @ 3.60 but for now I will just wait it out and see if AA Gent actually will play with the starting 11. Depending on what other teams do, more goals could be needed at the end which will make them take more risk so possibly a good setup for live bets. No Pre-Game Bets
