Sorare | My Journey So Far (3 Months Later)
My initial goal with Sorare was to try it out with a small investment as the concept behind it as a Play2Earn Fantasy Football game is something I can get behind while I also closely follow the Belgian Jupiler League which is fully supported. It was a bit of a struggle to get Funds on my account because of the Ethereum Gas fees.
M Journey So Far
After getting 75€ on my account getting some initial cheaper players, it quickly became clear that is was going to be impossible to be somewhat competitive as you need a goalkeeper that actually plays and those alone easily cost 200€+. I did get a cheap older goalkeeper who always starts on the bench in Sébastien Bruzzese at a cost of 7.4€
Overall I don't have enough players to bypass injuries or benched players getting the most out of my line-up and It needs to be submitted manually each week which in 3 out of 5 weeks I failed to do. This pretty much shows my dedication to the game and the intention/motivation to actually get in a position where I'm able to be somewhat competitive.
I now have 14 Limited cards which combined based on the market prices are worth 110.65€ so I'm virtually in a profit.
Conclusion
The way I tend to approach Play2Earn games is that I pick my sports and go all out on them which is in my view by far the best way to potentially earn from them. I've been doing this with Splinterlands for the past 3+ years and with Clash Of Streamers for the last 10 months. For Sorare.com, I simply don't have the willingness to invest the needed time and funds into it and I keep it as something on the side. It was interesting to get an account to learn how it just works and I will continue to keep brief track of things maybe getting some more players if there comes a time when goalkeepers become more affordable with ETH gas fees no longer being a problem. For now though, I'm not taking it that serious and I will try my best to at least just submit my team each week.
