Playoffs Week 8 Sunday Previews

These are previews from matches involving Belgian Teams with all the latest on team news, player form, injuries along with my personal betting angles, ...

I was very pleased with the main bet yesterday on Charleroi 1H +0 which played out exactly as anticipated. Aside from this, I didn't really have too much action and there are 3 matches on Sunday with 1 more being played on Monday.

AA Gent vs OH Leuven

So AA Gent is sure to win playoff 2 by now with 3 matches to go where they play for nothing but will need to keep up the momentum so they are in a good spot for the final match. From the looks of it, they will play with their A-Squad possibly having a young player in it also. Their form despite the results hasn't been all too impressive and I can see how they will not give it 100% approaching it more as a practice match where the main goal is not to take injuries or cards. OHL has been playing surprisingly motivated in these playoffs despite having nothing to play for. While I don't think it will be a crazy playoff 2 match wich turns into a goalfest, I'm not taking the risk to bet the under. I did take a tiny 0.2 unit bet on OH Leuven +1.5 @ 1.804 which covers the 1-goal AA Gent win. The possible decompression from Gent while OHL has proven to take these matches serious makes me willing to take the gamble. I also took 0.14 units on OHL +3 Corners @ 1.944 which feels too high of a handicap.

Sint-Truiden vs Kv Mechelen

This is another match with nothing to play for and many injuries mainly for Mechelen who miss Coucke, Bassette, Cobbaut, Storm, Hairemans who normally all have their place in the team. Stvv hasn't really impressed and are missing Steuckers. Aside from this though, they are complete and play at home which should give an advantage. Their 3 home matches so far ended in 2-0 / 3-3 / and 0-2 with the loss coming against Gent. Mechelen away while still in the hunt for the 1st place played 2-3 / 3-1 / 0-0 with the loss coming against AA Gent. The combination of this being the first match where Mechelen plays for nothing having many missing while Stvv has the home advantage along with the artificial pitch made me go for the home team at a draw-no-bet line. I took 0.2 units each on Stvv +0 @ 1.810 & Stvv 1H +0 @ 1.846

FC Antwerp vs Cercle Brugge

Antwerp remains in a situation where they kind of threw everything away as they put all their focus on the cup which made them underperform in the league and the cup last week was lost against Union. This now leaves them in 6 place and 4 points behind on Cercle Brugge who have the 5th Spot which will give a playoff chance against AA Gent. On top, many players including the coach will leave Antwerp so the drive to really go for the final match giving them a shot at European football might not be that high. They are with 4 losses in a row and just 1 good half against Club Brugge in their previous home match. Cercle Brugge has done surprisingly well and they look way more motivated to get the 5th or even the 4th place. A draw would also not be the worst result for them but a win would guarantee at least the 5th place eliminating Antwerp. The odds are set accordingly at a +0 line so it's not really an option to gamble on Cercle. With this match I will just wait and see how it goes before possibly getting a bet it. No Pre-Game Bets
