These are previews from matches involving Belgian Teams with all the latest on team news, player form, injuries along with my personal betting angles, ...
So far so good in week 7 of the league with some more profit yesterday and overall good form. I hope to continue on this in the 4 Sunday matches...
Antwerp vs Union
Antwerp after 6 week is only in 11th spot mainly because they failed to take the points they kind of deserved (especially at home against Anderlecht). They have been a team with highs and lows in the same match and they generally want to play forward, creating more open matches even though they are 0W-3L on the over away. However, the fact remains that they kind of play with the B-Squad of last season while not all players are at peak form. Union also clearly isn't as good as last season with Amoura, Nilsson, Puertas who left while the replacement simply aren't the same quality. They are currently 9th in the standings and are coming off 2 draws with no goals against Anderlecht and Stvv despite creating 2.33 and 1.44xg in those and 8 corners in each of them. They did look a bit more like the old Union in the match against Anderlecht but they aren't there just yet. Purely based on the home match against Anderlecht I would take Antwerp +0 but it has been too long ago to really take that as a proper reference. I see this as a match with the potential to be open and offensive which would mean the 2.5 line is quite soft. However, I'm not yet sold on the Union offense and I want to see some kind of confirmation first either in the lineups or the early match picture. If the corners line moves to 9 early on I might take some on that given that both on average manage to create 6.8 and 6.2. For now,

Sint-Truiden vs OH Leuven
Stvv saw their entire team leave and just weren't ready for the start of the season which got them in trouble as they are 2nd last. Their coach was replaced by Mazzu who tends to have a defensive approach mainly breaking down the opponent. This got them in 15th place yet having to take a win. However, it's not that they have a squad that is without chance and they did take 3 draws in their last 3 matches. The most logical thing would the that Mazzu first wants to make sure they stay secure in the defense and work from there on out. OH Leuven on the other hand is in 7th place and they have yet to lose a match. They have a solid squad of players and now finally seem to start believing in themselves. Too often so far they played cautious and more on the counters. Overall though, they crushed their asian handicaps going 3.5W-0.5L-2P so far while being 3W-0L on the away Under. So the main question in this match will be how Stvv reacts on the coach change. I did take tiny bets of 0.135 units on
1H Under 1 @ 2.110 and 0.126 units on
Under 2.75 @ 1.783 along with 0.04 units on
Under 9.5 Corners. If Stvv starts well or takes the lead, I might take a stab at OHL on the handicap as they should be capable to keep their unbeaten streak alive.
Charleroi vs Beerschot
Charleroi is in 9th place so far and suffered their first loss in week 9 against Mechelen. I have them as an over team against weak teams and under team against good teams. This with the expectation that they will start full force forward with high energy and motivation to crawl back when they are in the lead. They did get a new strike in Kyei whi I hardly see as an enforcement as he wasn't good enough in Standard who is a team that I rate lower than Charleroi. Beerchot has clearly been the team with least quality so far in the league and they are in last place with just 1 point so far and 5 losses in a row which show a 6-14 goal saldo, so 4 goals on average in those last 5 matches while they are able to score. Their overall style at times has been a bit too naive while they kind of could have taken more points but at the same time also not. I fully expect a strong forward start from Charleroi who should look to score early and seal it down afterward. I split bets between 0.2 units on
Charleroi 1H -0.5 corners @ 1.700, 0.16 units on
Charleroi 1H -0.25 @ 1.760, 0.15 units on
1H Over 1 @ 1.770, and 0.1 unit on
Both To Score @ 1.890 with an eye to possibly take some more bets in-game.
AA Gent vs Kv Mechelen
AA Gent so far this season hasn't fully convinced yet and are only in 12th place (with 1 match less played) but they also aren't really bad. They do have a home advantage but overall don't seem to be strong enough in attack with Gudjohnsen who has fell short and the fans showing this doesn't help for his confidence. Mechelen is a tricky team as they don't really have the quality but they do have a good coach who gets the best out of them. This especially in away matches where they don't have to make the play. So far these resulted in a 0-1 win against Antwerp thanks to a good De Wolf, a 0-0 against Standard where they crawled back and were happy with a draw lacking offensive quality, and a flattering 1-1 against Club Brugge. All this with an average xg below 1 while getting 1.53 xg against on average. I see the odds being too much influenced by the overish home stats of Mechelen and see this more as an encounter where The home team will take the initiative without overly taking risk fearing the counter and Mechelen who would sign for a 0-0 draw. I took these positions on the under... 0.240 units on
Under 3.25 @ 1.840, 0.15 units on
Under 3 @ 2.050, 0.06 units on
Under 2 @ 4.662, 0.1 unit on
1H Under 1.25 @ 1.970, and 0.05 units on
1H under 1 @ 2.639. Most likely if possible I would reduce some exposure or get in a middle position along the way or hedge out completely if needed.
