The grind is on again with some pre-game bets in the match yesterday while taking a late middle position which turned out in +0.220 units of profit overall slowly getting back up toward a profit. 3 matches on Saturday of which I really only got interest in 1 of them.
Beerschot vs Genk
Beerschot started the season in a way where it's just not good enough and they were lucky to get away with a draw in the first match against Leuven after getting punished with 3-1 and 4-1 scores against Union and Cercle. They rank 3rd last in xg with just 0.55 on average each match while they are the worst on getting xg against at an average of 2.04. Genk started the season with some doubt and lack of confidence resulting in a 0-0 against Standard and a 3-1 loss against OHL. This however turned around last week with a strong win against Club Brugge coming back from 0-2 behind which should give their confidence and morale a huge boost. They have a solid team and also a good bench. With no European football they also have full focus on the league and will have no fatigue issues. They are currently 3rd best on xg with 2.27 on average and also 4rd best on xg against at 1.11. The quality difference should be too big and anything but an away win would be a surprise. I had the odds at around the 1.60-1.66 range for the away win which is the type I try to avoid. Seeing 1.95 early odds on the European bookies before asians were available had me take it with more considerable stakes on some crypto bookies anticipating asians to release at lower odds. I got in 0.2 ETH on
Racing Genk -0.5 @ 1.950 both on
Dexsport.io and
Sportbet.one. I also took 0.2 units on
Genk 1st Half -0.25 @ 1.919 and 0.05 units on
Genk -1.5 @ 2.840 with an eye to possibly taking extra in-game. I also Like Genk on the corners.
Sint-Truiden vs Dender
This is a match between the team that started the league most ready (Dender) and the team that started the league least ready (Stvv). Dender has fully played that counter-style play which has worked out as nearly every single chance they got went in (6 scored on 2.88xg) while for stvv every half chance against turned into a goal (11 against on 6.09 xg against) while at the same time they rank 2nd last with an average of 0.53xg a match. So right now, the only real option is to follow this trend even though I see both teams sooner than later regress to the mean. If my hand was forced I would go with Dender +0 and the under which combines in Stvv Team Total Under. I only took a 0.02 ETH crypto bet on
Stvv Team Total Under 1 @ 2.29 over at dexsport.io. Dender so far has lost all their corner matchups given their counter play style. I'll be looking to possibly also get a bet in on that.
Mechelen vs Anderlecht
Mechelen has yet to win a match this season mainly lacking offensive quality. They are 4th last in xg at 0.77 average a match while they on average got 1.75 goals against. Generally, they play more offensive at home but overall their coach remains rather defensive-minded. Their last home match ended in a 2-4 score but it wasn't really a match that looked like that many goals. Overall Mechelen is a team I more look to oppose. Anderlecht Has yet to lose with 2 wins and a draw. However, they continue to ride their luck with a really poor home performance against Stvv which very late turned into a win, A match against Antwerp where they got 2.6 xg against but still somehow won with 1-2 creating just 0.76xg. Last week they played a 1-1 against OHL which was a fair score. They have a new Central defender who will replace the injured Vertonghen today and I have in my notes for Anderlecht not to be the team to keep clean sheets right now. These are 2 teams that right now I'm not willing to back without first seeing more. The lines and odds also feel quite fair.
