Yesterday was one of those days where the preview absolutely nailed it to perfection and I managed to get a solid +0.867 units out if it without at any point being tempted to hedge out of the under position. These are the plays that make up for a large part of the profit in the end and they also increases my belief that there are still good edges out there to be found and that I still beat the market. The season is still long however and it's time to get to the 3 matches of today...
Dender vs Kv Kortrijk
Dender who is the team with the lowest budget has been tipped as one of the main relegation candidates but they have done well so far taking 4/6 against 2 good teams. They opened as a big underdog in those with +1.25 and +1.5 lines which both got bet down to +1 rightfully so as they are 2W-0L against the asian handicaps. Kortrijk last season was a relegation team who managed to escape and are still seen as one of the main candidates on the market even though they have improved a lot and increased their budget. They took a good start in the league with 3/6 with an undeserved loss at home against AA Gent and a 1-2 win away against Cercle Brugge. The money has been against them as the closing odds were higher on both matches compared to the opening odds. They are 1W-0L-1P against them which could have been 2 wins. I do see them as a team that is underrated at the moment. Dender opened as the -0 favorite in this match which by yesterday moved to -0.25 and by today to -0.5 which just feels too much. It's one thing to be an underdog and put up a good performance, but being the favorite and confirming against a team that has a higher budget and is good form is something else. I took 0.25 units on
Kortrijk +0.5 @ 1.830 today and 0.15 units on
Kortrijk +0.25 @ 2.02 with an eye to take an extra bet in case the +0 odds reach 2.8+. Kortrijk Team Total Over is also an option.
Westerlo vs Union
Westerlo was the team of the 1st 2 weeks taking a 6/6 and high scores in 3-0 and 2-4. Their coach was acquired to fix the issue of them getting many goals against and he wasn't too pleased with the fact that they lost focus giving 2 goals away against Mechelen after taking a 0-2 lead. Union despite the 4 points they have taken so far, have looked a bit lost. They still managed to continue their form of last year in the super cup but with the new coach who puts more importance on possession, some key players that left in offense, and some others that might have a transfer in their head still, things aren't ideal for them at the moment. This could also be seen in the Champions League qualifier match which they lost with 3-1 against Slavia falling short. So I'm not jumping right now to bet on Union despite the fact that they still do have quality in the team. I did consider betting on Westerlo early when the line was +0.75 at even money but ended up skipping so the +0.5 at 1.87 line right now is not and option while I'm also not really willing to take the risk on Union. Same thing with the total line. This will be a match where I just watch and see what happens before potentially taking something.
No Pre-Game Bets
Anderlecht vs OH Leuven
Anderlecht and especially coach Riemer are still riding the luck wave as they won both their matches so far while they maybe should have taken 1 or 2 points. The first match was played at home without fans against an extremely defensive Stvv. This match today will be the first real home match against an opponent who should be willing and capable to also play forward more instead of just crawling back. Riemer is under fire because he makes the team play too result-oriented with little to no risk. The pressure by now to play more daring is at a point where he and the team need to show some kind of reaction and today should be a good moment for this. OHL based on the players that they have actually have a solid team even though they continue to downplay things talking about avoiding relegation. I see them as one of the most underrated teams in the league at the moment. They started well with a home draw a defensive Beerschot which could have been a win while they took the 3 points at home against Genk which they deserved. Anderlecht will be without key Defender Vertonghen leaving them with limited experience in the back and N'diaye who wasn't good enough last week still in the team.OHL has everyone available aside from Ricca as Pletinckx who is expected to start did not train fully last week. New players Gil and Biron won't be in the team. Someone bet on the under narrative on Anderlecht very early on when the limits where low which pushed over odds up a lot to a point where it was just too much. This is where I stepped in taking 0.570 units on
Over 2.25 @ 1.829 along with 0.062 units on
Over 3 @ 2.820 & 0.068 units on
Over 3.5 @ 3.680. Especially with the news of Vertonghen out, the odds crashed and I do expect a match where Anderlecht at least tries to play more forward and OHL not to crawl back fully like stvv. I also took the Over 2.25 as a crypto bet on Sportbet.one (See Below)
