Jupiler League Week 25 Saturday Previews

These are previews from matches involving Belgian Teams with all the latest on team news, player form, injuries along with my personal betting angles, ...

No preview yesterday due to a combination of not having any pre-game bets and lacking time. I did end up having 1 tiny live bet on the corners market which ended up an easy winner. Now it's on to Saturday where there are 3 matches to be played...

Beerschot vs Zulte-Waregem

Beerschot managed to take a somewhat surprise win at home against OHL but lost their most important match against their direct rival Seraing in the mid-week putting them at a 10-point gap now. So they are the worst-performing team in the league that mathematically is not yet last needing to take risks to go for wins with not unlikely scenarios of them collapsing. Zulte-Waregem is 16th in the league and saw Seraing come back withing 2 points. They have had mixed performances with a general trend that they are a team that remains vulnerable on the defense while still having scoring power. Overall they also haven't been good enough in most matches and at times they get blown away. They are still positive against the Asian handicap on the season 13W-8L-2P while Beerschot is 7W-15.5L-0.5P. I see both teams just going for it and would not be surprised if this turned into an encounter with goals since risks will have to be taken. My main bet is 0.3 units on Over 3.5 @ 2.823, I was also willing to take a 0.15 unit gamble on Zulte-Waregem -0.5 @ 3.064 and I have a lean on Zulte-Waregem Team total over also. I will see how the match starts and might increase my stakes along the way. In matches like this, I think it's best to just go with high odds.

Seraing vs Eupen

Seraing took a vital and deserved win against Beerschot last week but they still need more points to avoid a play-down match. Eupen in that regard is a direct opponent who has only 4 points more and is in a really bad streak. Their hot start of the season is what kept them out of relegation trouble but the most recent 1 in 18 now is getting them closer to the danger zone. This one might very much start as a match where the fear to lose for both teams is bigger than the will to win at least until the first goal is scored. I did take an initial pre-game position of 0.3 units on 1st Half Under 1 @ 2.068. Both teams are capable of having a good day so it feels kind of a coin flip to choose a side that odds agree upon with a +0 line. The team that scores likely will lay back leaving a good option for in-game corners after the first goal.

Cercle Brugge vs Oostende

Cercle has been on a crazy winning streak which got them from a relegation spot to having their eye on playoff 1. In their most recent matches against Anderlecht, Zulte-Waregem, & Eupen, I have been less impressed with their actual play as opposed to the matches before the winter break so luck hasn't exactly been against them. They now play against Oostende who is in 15th spot and needs points. I'm not comfortable betting against Cercle Brugge right now given their good streak and I also don't fully trust Oostende. Cercle Brugge has not won a corners matchup in their last 5 games while Oostende has done ok so far this season which made me take a small 0.2 unit gamble on Oostende +2 corners @ 1.850
