Saturday was one of those days where I had some bad bets that ended up losing and some good bets that also ended up losing with a bad streak that currently just seems to continue. I did deliberately keep avoid betting bigger most of the time keeping my maximum risk to half a unit even though it's tempting to just double down as my bankroll can more than handle it. I'm waiting for things to somewhat turn around also getting a better grip on the market as I often feel just 2 steps behind right now. I'm hoping for better results in the 4 matches on Sunday...
Beerschot vs Antwerp
This is a big derby match so things might get heated. Beerschot got to a point where they are playing better while still lacking sheer quality. Their winning streak got somewhat broken with a loss last week against Zulte-Waregem and also being eliminated in the cup against Standard which both aren't the best teams. Antwerp on the other hand had no mid-week match and are in a good streak. The team with better quality in a better streak that is much higher up in the rankings on top having less fatigue should be a bigger favorite than the -0.25 line even in a derby. they also didn't lose in their last 2 away matches against Beerschot.
Antwero -0.25 @ 2.024 and
Antwerp 1H +0 @ 1.770 are the bets I took for 0.25 & 0.2 units with an eye to take more in-game.
Anderlecht vs Zulte-Waregem
Anderlecht is a team that can lose against any team or win with a blow-out result while Zulte-Waregem is a team who can potentially win against any team or lose with a blow-out defeat. Form of the day will be key in this match and I have no indication whatsoever what it will be aside from the handicap that is set at a big -2 line for Anderlecht to cover. I am expecting a focused start from Zulte-Waregem and possibly a patient start from Anderlecht for a less exciting start of the match than expected. I did opt for a 0.165 unit bet on
Zulte-Waregem 1H +0.75 @2.080 since Anderlecht has shown not to be the best first-half team and there certainly is a chance for Zulte-Waregem to score first. I will be waiting for potential over bet in-game also.
Standard vs Charleroi
A wanted to take Charleroi +0.25 @ 1.9+ earlier this week but waited and the odds crashed so I am left without much options in this match. Standard is just not a good team and they continue to be somewhat overrated. Their win in the cup was quite narrow and flattering after extra time while Charleroi had no cup match which should make it so that they are the fresher team. The home advantage certainly does count for something so I get that the odds are quite 50-50. Charleroi likely will lure on counters and Standard most likely won't be willing to overly take risks. Charleroi however is much more overish in their away matches and they are one of the better 1H away teams. If Standard take the initiative early on and if that pushes up the price a bit, I will likely take Charleroi 1H the moment the dominance starts fading away a bit. for now, I do also kind of like Standard -1 corners as they so far only lost 1 home corners matchup while Charleroi just won theirs twice. Kv Mechelen vs Racing Genk
This is a match between teams that are capable of both the best and the worst and form of the day will be a key factor. Genk just lost twice to Club Brugge after playing good matches where they gave it away in the defense. Mechelen did quality in the cup but is coming off a poor match against Cercle Brugge away last weekend. It does feel like it's time for Genk to take a win but after a long bad streak of results, it's hard to actually bet them as the -0.25 favorite knowing especially that they will be the ones experiencing most stress for a good result. Normally this should turn out in an open attractive match with goals on both sides. Both also don't tend to wait to go on the offense so an early goal certainly is an option which also shows in the statistics as Mechelen at home has 1.75 goals on average (51.9%) and Genk way on average has 1.38 goals in the first half (only 35.5%). I will wait to see the first couple minutes of the match before possibly pulling any triggers.
